There is no Ati Zigi and Benjamin Asare camp in the Black Stars - Ati Zigi

Black Stars goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi has dismissed suggestions that there are factions within the national team centred around himself and fellow goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.

Speaking on reports alleging the existence of "Ati Zigi" and "Benjamin Asare" camps in the Black Stars setup, the St. Gallen shot-stopper insisted the claims are false and do not reflect the atmosphere within the team.

"I think these are maybe the narratives from the people, but I don't really think there's a camp of someone in the camp of someone," Ati Zigi said.

"At the end of the day, we all wanted to make the country proud. We are representing the country, so yeah, there was nothing like this."

The goalkeeper acknowledged that such rumours may have stemmed from hearsay but stressed that the entire goalkeeping department remained united throughout.

"It could be something someone heard, but yeah, we were together as a team, as a goalkeeping unit, so there was nothing like there was this camp or there was this camp."

"We were all together supporting each other to achieve a great thing for the country," he added.
