'I have a diploma in Accounting' - N'Golo Kanté opens up on education

French midfielder N'Golo Kanté has revealed that he pursued higher education alongside football, earning a diploma in accounting as a safeguard in case his football career did not work out.

Speaking about his educational background in an interview, Kanté said he spent four years studying accounting while simultaneously chasing his dream of becoming a professional footballer.

"I have a Diploma in Accounting. I chose to study accounting for four years while chasing professional football so I could have something to fall back on in case football stops giving me money," he said.

Before rising to global prominence, the World Cup winner balanced his studies with the demands of developing as a footballer.

The humble midfielder's journey is one of perseverance, discipline and careful planning. Despite eventually becoming one of the world's most successful footballers, winning the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FIFA World Cup and UEFA Nations League, Kanté ensured he had academic qualifications to rely on beyond the pitch.
