  Forget about Asare denying England goals. It was a collective efforts, the 10 outfield players, the coaches tactical approach and particularly the 4 defenders- Adjetey, Oppong, Senegal and Gideon Mensah.

  Forget about Asare denying England goals. It was a collective efforts, the 10 outfield players, the coaches tactical approach and particularly the 4 defenders- Adjetey, Oppong, Senegal and Gideon Mensah.
  
  Even the much vilified Jordan Ayew all defended with heart and soul, and that accounted for the goaless draw. It was not just Asare that stopped England, but the whole team and the defensive tactic applied by coach Quiroz for that game. So why did Asare concede two goals against Croatia whom England beat 4-2 in their opening group match?

  I meant the 5 defenders- full backs Senaya, Yirenkyi and Gideon Mensah; Centre Backs Adjetey and Jerry Opoku. Indeed the coach played the England game with 5 defenders who shielded Asare and made him to be able to stop England from scoring. Indeed all the midfielders- Thomas Partey, Simon and Owosu and even strikers, including Ayew, all defended in that game with England. The Coach planned to play full defensive game- not looking to win, for that would have opened them up.
