FIFA has unveiled the 12 goals shortlisted for the Best Goal award from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with fans now invited to vote for their favourite strike before voting closes on July 27, 2026.

The shortlist was selected from the 308 goals scored during the tournament, making it the highest-scoring World Cup in history. The winner will be decided by a public vote.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi headlines the nominees with his brilliant effort against Algeria in the group stage, while Golden Boot winner Kylian Mbappe earned a place for his spectacular finish against Senegal.

Spain’s Ferran Torres is also among the contenders after scoring the dramatic goal that sealed a 1-0 victory over Argentina in the World Cup final, handing La Roja their second world title.

His final opponent, Julian Alvarez, was nominated for his superb strike against Switzerland in the quarter-finals.

Other players in contention include Jude Bellingham (England), Erling Haaland (Norway), Kerim Alajbegovic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sydney Cabral (Cape Verde), Wilson Isidor (Haiti), Elijah Just (New Zealand), Daizen Maeda (Japan) and Eldor Shomurodov (Uzbekistan).
