It appears James Dadzie has the opportunity to translate his relay success on the continental stage into a strong performance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games after earning a place in Ghana’s athletics team for Glasgow.
The sprinter has been included in Ghana's 13-member track and field squad and is expected to play a key role in the men's 4x100m relay alongside Benjamin Azamati, Joseph Paul Amoah, Isaac Botsio, and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu.
Dadzie has steadily established himself as one of Ghana's reliable relay athletes, contributing to the national team's success at major international competitions.
He was part of Ghana's men's 4x100m relay team that claimed silver at the 2024 African Games in Accra, where the quartet thrilled the home crowd with a strong finish.
The sprinter also featured in Ghana's relay squad that won bronze at the 2024 African Championships in Douala, Cameroon, further cementing the country's reputation as one of Africa's sprint powerhouses.
His consistency in relay events has earned him another opportunity to represent Ghana on one of the biggest multi-sport stages.
The Commonwealth Games athletics competition runs from July 23 to August 2, with Ghana aiming to add to its medal tally through its sprint relay teams.
