Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has reported back to Manchester City's training base to begin preparations for the 2026/27 season after enjoying a short break following the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 26-year-old returned to the City Football Academy on Monday alongside manager Enzo Maresca, his coaching staff and the rest of the first-team squad as the Premier League champions resumed training ahead of their pre-season tour of Asia.
Semenyo was granted extended leave after representing the Black Stars at the World Cup, where he featured in all four of Ghana's matches before their Round of 16 exit to Colombia.
The forward will now turn his attention to building on an impressive first six months at the Etihad Stadium after completing his move to City midway through last season.
Semenyo quickly established himself as an important member of the squad, helping the club win both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup. He capped a memorable campaign by scoring in City's FA Cup final victory over Chelsea, further enhancing his growing reputation.
Manchester City will depart for Hong Kong on Tuesday as part of their pre-season preparations, where they are scheduled to face Inter before travelling to South Korea for further friendlies against a K League All-Stars XI and Atletico Madrid.
Semenyo is expected to play a key role during the tour as Maresca fine-tunes his squad ahead of the new campaign, with the Ghanaian hoping to carry his strong club form into another season after an eventful summer on the international stage
