Benjamin Asare visits Chief Imam, Ga Mantse, and Ablakwa after World Cup

Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has paid visits to several state officials and dignitaries following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup to express his appreciation.

The Accra Hearts of Oak shot-stopper, in what appears to be a “Thank You Tour”, began with a visit to the Ga Mantse Palace, where he met traditional leaders to thank them for their support throughout his career.

During the meeting, Asare presented traditional tokens to His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II and expressed gratitude for his spiritual backing. The leaders offered prayers and pledged continued support for Asare’s future endeavors, recognizing him as a national icon.

The tour continued at the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, where Asare expressed appreciation for his support and discussed the way forward.

He also visited Alhaji Mohammed, popularly known as Sarkin Samari of the Zongo Community, accompanied by residents of Korle Gonno who joined him for the engagement.

The latest stop was at the residence of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, where Asare sought special prayers and spiritual guidance as he wrapped up his post-tournament duties and prepared for the upcoming football season.

He presented a customized Black Stars jersey to the Chief Imam as a symbol of appreciation for his consistent national prayers, including a directive for nationwide prayers ahead of the World Cup.

The Chief Imam offered heartfelt prayers, guidance, and words of encouragement, praising Asare’s humility and his contribution to national pride during the global tournament.

Asare is now expected to turn his attention back to football, rejoining Accra Hearts of Oak, with no transfer links to other clubs reported yet.
