Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has announced that Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare will receive a brand-new vehicle valued at $38,000 after being adjudged the best local player in the national team.
The announcement was made during the 32nd Ordinary Session of the GFA Congress currently ongoing at Prampram. According to Kurt Okraku, the vehicle, supplied by TAC Motors, is intended to reward Asare’s performances and inspire players in the domestic league to strive for greater achievements.
“Benjamin Asare, I'm sure he's listening, a brand-new vehicle, valued at $38,000. I have seen the vehicle, I was in the showroom, I tested it, and you love it,” he said.
The GFA president added that the gesture demonstrates the association’s commitment to recognising outstanding performances by players who excel at the domestic level.

“This will encourage everybody, all players in our domestic league, to aspire to greater heights. When you do well, your efforts will be recognised by this family that is gathered here,” he added.
Kurt Okraku also described Ghana’s national teams as a work in progress, stressing that the GFA remains focused on improving their competitiveness.
“Our national teams remain a work in progress. While we celebrate encouraging achievements, we also recognise the challenges that lie ahead of us. Our focus remains firmly on building competitiveness,” he added.
