Antoine Semenyo left the young fan in tears after he gave him his jersey
Ghana international Antoine Semenyo created a special moment for a young Manchester City supporter after the club’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Bournemouth in their opening Premier League game of the 2026/27 season.
Following the final whistle at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, August 23, 2026, Semenyo made his way towards the stands before stopping to hand his shirt to a young fan.
The youngster’s reaction quickly captured the attention of those around him, with the emotional moment showing just how much the gesture meant to the young supporter.
Semenyo had been involved in City’s attacking efforts during the game as Enzo Maresca’s side came from behind to secure all three points.

Bournemouth took the lead through Marcus Tavernier in the 26th minute, but Marc Guéhi equalised six minutes from time before Joško Gvardiol completed the comeback in stoppage time. Semenyo also went close to scoring during the encounter.
The Black Stars forward joined City from Bournemouth in January 2026, on a five-and-a-half-year contract, making Sunday’s fixture against his former club an emotional occasion in its own right.
