Top European clubs asserted their dominance in the opening week of the 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League, played between September 8 and 10, 2026.
In Spain, Real Madrid won 2-1 in a keenly contested game against Inter Milan, while Barcelona thrashed Feyenoord 5-1. Atletico Madrid, however, fell to Liverpool 2-1.
English clubs also made an impressive start, with Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool all winning their opening games, putting them in strong positions in their quest for the title.

Bayern Munich, touted as favorites, lived up to expectations by thrashing Bodø/Glimt 5-0 at the Allianz Arena. Stuttgart defeated Viking 3-1, while Borussia Dortmund also recorded a victory.
Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) demolished Slovan Bratislava; AS Roma drew 1-1 against Fenerbahce, while Como stunned RB Leipzig 4-1.
Matchday 1 produced a total of 69 goals across all fixtures, with seven more games still to be played to conclude the group stage.
Matchday 2 will continue on October 13, 2026.
