Saddick - Stop the nonsense. The problems started before Okraku, but he has had 7+ years since he became the GFA president to fix them, and he CANNOT POINT TO ANY attempt to fix ANY part of the problems despite millions of dollars flowing in. In fact, Okraku thinks we have no problems at all. Example: We used to watch Ghana Black Satellites and Meteors performing so well on the World stage, and now you don't even hear about them anymore. Why? Because the current corrupt GFA President and Exco members all have clubs and instead of calling the best players from other clubs in the youth teams to build and supply the Black Stars, the GFA leadership use players from their own clubs who are not the best to represent Ghana because they want to sell them for quick money.
So the Satellites and Meteors don't even qualify anymore, and the Black Stars don't get any supply of fresh young talent from Satellites and Meteors anymore. The supply line has been destroyed. Kurt Okraku has made the PROBLEM 10X worse and he still thinks he is doing wonderful. He is very corrupt, rude, arrogant, highly-incompetent. That is why he and all his henchmen must go. He is the worst GFA President in the history of the republic. Nkwasiasem !!!

How many of us have not seen owners of Colts Clubs becoming paupers at old ages while their products are living lavishly after going to abroad. It behoves on Govt to put proper policies and structures in place for Club owners to also get some returns on their investments. Right To Dream Academy is currently making so much profit in Ghana, why can't Govt study their structures and help club owners do something similar or close.

Huh! The national teams like Black Stars, Starlets, Satellites, Meteors, ARE NOT GFA investments. The national teams belong to the nation and GFA are only managing them. What GFA is directly responsible for are the local leagues. That is where their investments should belong, but they have run that into the ground as well. So, the GFA cannot use the national teams for their personal clubs gains. It is a direct conflict of interest because it will not give non-GFA club owners a fair shake at selecting the best of the best players to represent the national teams. No GFA member should be allowed to own clubs because that is where the problem starts.

We know this decline started with Kwesi Nyantakyi who President Kuffuor to abandon our national youth prgrams and give the job to gfa. We know he inherited the talents his predecessors groomed through the national youth program back then. Talents like Sammy Kuffuor ,John mensah, Appiah, Laryea Kingston, ollele, Essien, Paintsil etc were not groomed by Nyantakyi though they made him a name. Nyantakyi replace our national youth program with his sports academies program so if a parent cannot pay their kids can’t play. This is the problem and Okraku has continued where Nyantakyi left off so you cannot say that Okraku is not the reason why our football is worse.

Look at the league he has managed for almost 8 years. Can anyone say he has improved it? You people should speak truth to power and take away our national youth program from GFA and let those who are interested in grooming youth talents do so

I’ve listened to Saddick on this issue on 2 different platforms including the full interview where this story was taken from. He actually criticised the GFA and Kurt seriously. He’s also saying that though Kurt and GFA are a big reason for where we are, it’s not just about changing the personalities because the problem also includes the system that allowed such personalities to take advantage of our football for their selfish interests. A careful read of this story, beyond the headline, also highlights this.

Somebody who leaves the stadium when the national team is losing miserably on home soil cannot simply admit failure to step aside. In previuos times the President, Vice, the Minister or Gafa Head visits the team camp to give morale booster and pep talks. They mobilize food items and provisions from well meaning companies and individuals to serve as morale boosters to the national team when faced with crucial home matches all these have all vanished. We had seasoned journalists who gave previews of opposing team's strength and weaknesses, their danger men and who to watch for now we dont have such analysis any more. It is like the team dont watch video clips of opponents any more. The government, ministry gafa are all entangled in a game of blaming and witch hunting each other. If the Morroco friendly is cancelled so why didn't the governnent organise a friendly for the team to play any local club or a select group to shapen their experience if that is what we were looking for. The international window went away wasted like a begging chance. The government, minister and gafa are wasteful. Look at this, how do you reappoint a coach to act only as a figure head without his preferred back room staff and impose a locally assembled makeshift backroom staff to make it appear as if Ghana has a foreign coach. Our sports journalists have become post mortem analysts only. The government, gafa and minister, populace have all given up. No real plan. The government should select from the league the best players to form home based ready made national team, camp them from time to time for CHAN and other assignment add foreign based players from the continent and elsewhere to trimmed down to the vest 25 member squad for international assignments. Ghana must be strategic.
