Antoine Semenyo is a Ghanaian player
Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo is expected to miss a crucial run of fixtures for Manchester City and the Black Stars after suffering a knee injury that could keep him out of action for up to eight weeks.
Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca confirmed on Monday, October 19, 2026, that the 26-year-old could be sidelined until December following the injury he sustained during City's 3-2 Premier League victory over Ipswich Town.
Semenyo came on as a substitute in the 77th minute but suffered the injury late in the game, prompting concerns about his availability for the coming weeks.

Although the initial assessment raised fears of a more serious problem, subsequent scans provided some relief, with Maresca indicating that the winger could return around December.
The Ghana international is expected to miss several important matches across domestic and European competitions, alongside Ghana's upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Somalia.
His absence is expected to begin with Manchester City's UEFA Champions League clash against AEK Athens on Tuesday, October 20, before the Premier League trip to Aston Villa on October 24, 2026.
City's next fixtures against Brighton in the Carabao Cup and Premier League, followed by a Champions League trip to RB Leipzig, are also among the games he is expected to miss.
The winger could subsequently sit out league matches against Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Arsenal, as well as City's European meeting with Napoli.

Ghana will also be without one of its key attacking options for the two-legged AFCON 2027 qualifying tie against Somalia, scheduled for November 11 and 15, 2026.
If his recovery takes the full eight weeks, Semenyo could also miss City's December fixtures against Leeds United and Brentford, as well as the Champions League trip to Barcelona.
