Actually, there was a NEGRO BASEBALL LEAGUE of Black Players in the United States.
It is not a pleasant part of American History, but Africa's Black children were not allowed to play in the white league.
Jackie Robinson was the first Black to be allowed to play on a white team in the white Major League Baseball in 1947. He 'broke the colour line,' as the history says, playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers in New York City.
There is a movie, 42, coming out this January on Jackie Robinson. 42 was his Jersey Number, and it was probably the 23 of those days.
The Negro League played before Black spectators for some 60 years.
Allowing Black Baseball players in the white league, weakened the Negro Baseball League.
The word 'Negro,' is now considered to be insulting, but the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People [NAACP]uses the out-dated 'Coloured.'
It is a little like calling the Ghana of today, 'Gold Coast.'
We do not know when Black Players began to play on European Soccer teams, but historians should dig that out. The recent protest by Kevin Prince Boateng of AC/Milan generates a lot of issues.
These days, the number of Black players on Major League Baseball teams has shrunk, as Black Athletes have been allowed to play on American Basketball and Football teams.

Ghana has so many talents but their problem is team play and waste of time. Hanging on to a ball for too long invites foul play. Unfortuntely this is a very common practice with the Black Stars. Guess who the leaders of this practice are, yep, the Ayews.
No surprise, before Christian Atsu, these 2 were the most agile players in the Black Stars. They have too much skills than they can handle, but you can't only rely on skills. It's on record that during the AFCON tournament of 2012, the Ayews were the most fouled players. Jordan first, followed by his brother Dede. They were cut down numerous times by reckless players from Mali, Algeria and Zambia. Strange enough, these 2 brothers never passed the ball to each other in the whole tournament. Coupled with the many over-the-bars from Jordan, Ghana was bound to lose.
Fouls cause delays, halt momentum and discourage players. I beleive in the Ayews, they are very talented but they are also very selfish. I hope Kwasi Appiah will bring them both back though I think Jordan should be sent to the meteors as a captain till he is 21. Coach Sillas Tetteh nurtured Dede as a good leader, he should do the same with his brother.

This win over a depleted Egypt means nothing, let alone to be joyful about. Egypt in a training camp is NOT Egypt in a real football pitch. We need to wake up and realize that just one win does NOT determine the preparedness of the BS to wrestle the cup from Zambia. The BS need to establish a chronological trend of unbeaten form before we can start jubilating, otherwise i would strongly advise you to have some heart -attack pills handy coming Jan 19.
The BS need to beat the likes of Cote D’Ivoire , Senegal and especially Zambia by that margin before we can even think of going to the semi-final. We tend to dwell in the past glories a the BS and fail to realize its actual patchy form. This kind of comportment is NOT patriotism, but the false use of the term.

If Zambian were thinking like you, they wouldn't have won the cup, and further beating Ghana a second time in a row. We need to wake up a face the bitter reality and address it, instead of blindly refusing to accept that we have deficiencies. Thinking in your dreams that you are "good" does not make you "good". The only thing that can make you a better person/team is when you recognize your pitfalls and address them effectively.
Remember that I am nobody to insist on how you should think. It is up to you if you want you remain in your utopia
