Roman Arkadyevich Abramovich is investing in Chelsea FC he gets full return on his investment so are the others. Back in the 60s, 70, and 90s people where spending money on the local teams such as Kotoko and Hearts but everyone was getting something back. GFA had tax break deals work out with government Kwasi Nyantakyi is sitting on ass counting on number per diem he need for Black Star trip.

BCOS THE GFA IS NOT HELPING THESE CLUB OWNERS BECOME RESPONSIBLE OWNERS.BY THAT I MEAN...HOW ARE THESE CLUBS SUSTAINING THEMSELVES FINANCIALLY? ARE THEY DIVERSIFYING THEIR BUSINESS INTEREST WITH RESPECT TO THEIR CLUBS? HOW MANY FOT HESE CLUBS HAVE A CKLUB STADIUM? HOW MANY O THESE CLUBS HAVE A CLUB RADIO STATION? HOW MANY OF THESE CLUBS SELL CLUB PARAPHERNALIA? HOW MANY OF THESE CLUBS HAVE CLUB WEBSITES? HOW MANY OF THESE CLUBS SELL SEASON TICKETS FOR SEASON LONG SEATS? HOW DO THESE CLUBS MAKE MONEY FROM GAMES? DO THESE CLUBS PLAY EXHIBITION GAMES AMONGST GH CLUBS AND NON GH CLUBS? HOW ARE THESE CLUBS REAPING PROFITS FROM TELEVISED GAMES? THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THESE CLUBS TO NOT BE MAKING A PROFIT, UNLESS THEY DONT HAVE A FAN BASE.....PERHAPS, IT TIME CLUBS LIKE EBUSUA DWARFS,HEARTS GOT INTO OTHER BUSINESSES IN THEIR RESPECTIVE COMMUNITIES E.G TOILET SERVICES, INVESTING IN MARKETS, INVESTING IN CITY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES, SCHOOLS, BANKS, BUILDING ROADS ETC. THAT WAY, THEY ARE NOT DEPENDENT ON ONE WAY OF MAKING REVENUE, BUT MULTIPLE.LOOK AT RTU TODAY? IM SURE THE OWNER ONLY HAS 1 WAY OF ACCRUING REVENUE IN TAMALE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THEREFORE, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE GFA ORGANIZES SEMINARS FOR THE CLUBOWNERS ON HOW TO MAXIMIZE THEIR REVENUES.RTU COULD HAVE PLAYERS FROM BURKINA N MALI PLAYING IN THEIR CLUB. THEY CNA EVEN INVEST IN BUISNESSES IN BURKINA AS WELL BOS OF THE PROXIMITY ETC.....THAT WAY, THE CLUBS ARE MONETARILY RESPONSIBLE AND DONT HAVE TO RELY ON THE GFA FOR FUNDS FOR INTL COMPETITIONS.

Your points are well taken. They will work well in a society where there is rule of law, the society operates on clear systems and procedures on social, economic, political and yes, sports financing and administration levels. Do you really believe the north African teams are thriving because of the principles you articulate here? I think they are probably benefiting from resources accrued from oil wealth. When our vast populations are lifted slowly out of poverty, the points you have made here can and should work in Ghana and elsewhere on the African continent. Until then, Nyantakyi must come up with a business plan, a scheme that works for the Ghanaian situation. I doubt we can have a carbon copy of what the first world has. Have you ever wondered why Professor Azumah Nelson fought just about every one of his world championship bouts outside Ghana? The reasons are multifarious, and like hydra, they are not easy to control.

the reason why ghanaian teams don't go far in african club competitions these years is that the players are not there to compete...in the 70s and 80s, kotoko, hearts and hasaacas (my team, 'we go do')used to go far..either semi finals or finals-because the players were there to deliver...players did not leave in droves to go play outside as they do now...some of our best players ever never played outside, can you imagine? (the fearsome five of hearts of oak), for example...the financial way-out at the time was that gate fees used to supplement what the team financiers could provide...and the enticement for fans to go and watch games was the quality of players on display...it is the lack of quality players and competition that has driven fans away from the local league to go watch european soccer on tv...anytime hasaacas and wise played was a sell-out at gyandu park!, thus more money for the teams...the local derbies-hearts vs olympics, kotoko vs cornerstones, dwarfs vs vipers and the big one, hearts vs kotoko were always sell outs in their respective stadiums..but these days fans prefer to watch man city vs man u on tv than hearts vs kotoko at the stadium because of the quality of the players on the field..the players who attract fans are always sold or they leave on their own to go seek greener pastures in obscure places like vietnam and india...in north africa, where nyantekyi is using as example, their players don't leave in numbers as in west africa!...in north africa, they play real pro football and not the so-called 'pro' football in ghana...that's why west african players play in north africa if not in europe...because their players stay in their local leagues longer they attract more fans thus more money from the gate to sponsor the teams like hearts of oak and kotoko in those years...there is no denying the fact that ghanaian teams attract large crowds wherever they play in africa...i lived in some african countries before coming to the u.s., and i saw that...it could be the lowest-ranked team in the ghana league and still they attract big crowds because they know they will watch good football...i have always said that the only way our teams can go far in african club competitions like hearts and kotoko in the 70s and 80s is for the football association to control player exodus...every player must be made to play in the national league for a minimum number of years-2, 3 or 4 -before being issued transfer certificate to play outside..these days some players don't even play in the national league before they leave the country to go and play in bangladesh...it is true that those years, hearts and kotoko, and the other teams like hasaacas and olympics used to have rich finaciers, they also depended on the gate intake to supplement...and the only way to increase gate intake is more spectators and to attract them is to present quality players on the field, not the mediocre ones we have now...if the gfa does not institute a rule to restrict player exodus, our local league will continue to be weak and our teams will not go far in competitions...and the long term effect is that the national will also be weak and that's why the black stars have not won the cup of nations in 30 years
