Did he know to consider Essien's age? He is not ready for the Black Stars but ready for his team in Europe. Fellow country-men, I understand he (Essien) is the bread winner of his family, but, he can at least offer half of his service to the nation like he is doing with his club in Europe. To me, I figured he is just telling us that he is done with the Black Stars only to cater for personal life. But when the time comes for him to seek to coach the Black Stars, that is when we will tell him we are not ready also.

agree with Desailly. He should return when he is ready to play. We need players who can commit 100% on the field. Essien is very good player but the question is is he prepared to commit to the hard tackles of soccer in Africa

We do admit that his physical problems started with the Black Stars, but unlike other players like Appiah, you hardly find him near the Stars or at least sending solidarity messages or simply speaking to show he cares. Look; why should he even organize a charity match in Ghana at a time Ghana is struggling hard to win against Sudan for a chance to qualify for Brazil? It was a poor PR with loyal Gh soccer fans.

Ecourange Essien to bounce back and be with the blackstars instead of talking otherwise ,This is where he started his carrier even when the pitches where as worse as hell ,he managed to excell .he can still play and play very well if only he is ready to serve the nation ,I always salute players like Stephen Appiah Didier Drogber and Suley Ali Muntari who always play their lungs out just for the nation and the football loving fans ,,
If Essien is not ready to play let him go ,He is a great player no doubt about that, but he need to be more than just great to be in the black stars team ,commitment ,love and respect ,
