Sellas Tetteh under rated France U-20 National team. Yes, Coach Tetteh is good just by rating the last game played against Spain and US; however, he went into the first match, which in every tournament, is the most difficult match but also opens doors to move forward, with too much confidence. By the time he realized, we were already down by two.

Imagine if we were to take the team he took to face Spain to face France, we would have came out with that 3 point. The midfield was solid and the fighting spirit of the whole team was beyond imagination.

I thought Spain was going to trash us based on the way we played against France. Not knowing we have a team that could practically take any U-20 national team in his world.

I'm sure Coach Tetteh and his technical team have learnt a lesson from this little mistake they made. I'm also sure they will stand on this mistake to build better teams for the country in the future. Remember, we learn from our mistakes and this is good for the country.

Technical and tactical abilities of a team against other determines a team's result success. Yes, the players may have gone into the match against France with determination and mentality to win, the pairings of the players in each department may have been wrong. I say that because our midfield department didn't break down against Spain but it did against France. Have you asked yourself why that happened? Did you watch France against USA, how about Spain against USA? Between the two nations which one has more balanced and solid midfield? Is it France or Spain?

Your answer to the above questions should tell you that France midfield department which crashed ours wasn't as solid as Spain's midfield department which couldn't destroyed ours. How many changes France made after our encounter before they met USA? Put two and two together and you will understand the point I'm trying to make.

By the way, no one said another team is not better than ours. That wasn't the point we are throwing across. The point here is that a mistake was made by our technical team whereby going into a first match in such a tournament with not the best on the list. The formation France used to beat Ghana was the same formation they used on USA and still drew with them.

If I'm wrong on this assessment, today match will determine. So, let us wait and see the outcome of both matches.

Now did you watch the game between Ghana and USA? That was my point!

When you have a player like Messi in the team cum good strikers yet cannot break any defense. Your style or system of play is questionable. Our back line always forget runs by opponents behind them. A tactical coach will always have one player to check who is lurking behind our defenders. France scored three with the same mistake. And i am like what's up with the coach?
Nketiah, who plays for the right back is not good and must be replaced. This guy will not pass the ball right then afterwards, he sit and watch instead of making runs to support. Maybe he paid more to the coach for exposure, but no one will buy him and he is a waste period.
There is no flare between attacking midfielders and attackers. No deft touches or one two touches and our coach need to help them understand runs and moves, if by His Grace they go through the back door.
This is the first time in any competition, that our country is praying for a back door pass, what a shame.
Also, those players have to understand why they are representing Ghana on the field. It's all about sacrifice and they have to die a little. Stretch a little and push a little so hard to make things happen for them.
Don't we have Gargo's and Muntari's in the team that can supply straight shots outside the box? Come on satellites, our women even did better gosh.

Sellas is a great coach. There is no way he would have won the 2009 U20 World Cup if he sucked. Some people will say he was lucky...screw that...luck is like free money on a spree...it eventually runs out. Even a great team will not progress without a great management, leadership and belief. Something probably went wrong within the management and Sellas after he won the U20 WC in 2009. Why would a coach of his caliber go to coach in Rwanda of all places. Rwanda lost bt 1/2 a million to a million of its population in their genocide...so their talent pool has been violated to a large extent.

That said I think Sellas fixed some of the mistakes after the first match. He went further and even tweaked it further in the USA match. By starting Yiadom and Assifuah at the same time was great for the USA match. Some coaches would have played both strikers in the French and Spain matches. You can always substitute them when the strikers get tired. Nketia is having a hard time in the right back. He is good at overlapping but he loses his concentration easily.

As at now, Korea Republic is taking one spot and Mexico is taking another. Two spots left and all will be cleared after tomorrow's matches the nations in groups "E" and "F".

We need New Zealand to beat Uruguay which is impossible and Egypt to beat England, which I see possibility in that match.

In Group "A", we have 3 points 5 goals and 5 goals against. This means we have 3 points but zero goal difference.

Here is the break downs for each group.

In Group "A", we have 3 points 5 goals and 5 goals against. This means we have 3 points but zero goal difference.

With these figures, do we have the chance? You conclude it but here is what I got from all the groups.

Group "B" 3rd placed team Korea Republic has qualified to take the first best four third positions though two days left for the completion of the group stage matches. This means only 3 spots left for us to be squeezed in.

For Ghana to have hope in this qualification to he second stage, unless none of the top positioned teams in Group "C" in the nations of Turkey and Colombia, falls to its counterparts today. Colombia is leading the group with 4 points but has an encounter with El Salvador who has 3 points as Turkey but sits behind Turkey as goals for is considered. With these two, Colombia and El Salvador, playing draw today will open the door for all their three nations to qualify into the next stage. For Ghana to continue with its hope, unless El Salvador is defeated by the group leaders, Colombia.

Also in Group "D", unless Mexico with 0 points, beat or draw with Mali, which has 2 points today, Mali could come out with either 5 points with a win, or 3 points sames as Ghana but better goal difference than Ghana with a draw. If this happens, there would be only two spots left for the best 4 third positions.

Group "E", unless Egypt who has no points comes out with a good game to beat England who has 2 points so far, our chances of coming from the back will continue to be slimmer. In other words, if England wins tomorrow, then that will be a problem for us.

I say that because in Group "F", Uruguay is definitely going to crash New Zealand to take one of the third best spot.

Therefore now, how many spots left for us to be counted as one of the third 4 best teams to move on to the next stage? Not even one and a half left.

This is serious and we need to concentrate. The time to talk about picking the best to represent us is over. This is the time Sellas Tetteh needs to concentrate on his execution in case we qualify and hoping for the best.
