Get your facts right first, it's very important. The confederation cup is connected to the MTN FA cup series played this year so there's a chain of authority where Hearts comes before Dwarfs. First 2 in the league competes in the champions league category, while the winner and runner up in the knock out play for the confederation cup category. The final 4 in the league are Kotoko, Chelsea, Medeama & Dwarfs. In the FA cup series it's Medeama, Kotoko, Amaidus & Hearts in that order.

Massa, Ghana's number of African club tournaments participation was just raised few weeks ago. We were reduced to 2 clubs about a year or two ago based on non performance and last minute withdrawals. That sanction was lifted just recently, putting Ghanaian clubs back to 2 per each competition. Kotoko won the league and were runner up to Medeama in the FA cup so they had the option to choose which tournament they'll like to play. Since their choice was the CL and representing along with Chelsea, Kotoko had to be replaced in the FA cup category which both Hearts and Amaidus rejected the offer, thus Dwarfs. Hope it's clear with you now? On the European stage, they have a lot of tournaments. The euefa CL, euefa europa cup, inter toto cup, Carling cup and all that nonsense lol. Anyway, in the EPL it's 4 teams per tournament so it's a total of clubs out of EPL alone. It's supposed to be 3 each but there's a funny way they work it out to make 4 each and it's most times depend on who won the cup in each of the last tournament.
