Top athletes don't just appear out of nowhere. The man is been in office just for 2 years and you expect miracle and new athletes who can compete at the highest level.

Gaisah is smart. His careers is going downhill (his is old oo i hear 36-37) and he wants to move his family to Holland. GAA and Ghana can't help him.

The new SHS or SSS is mainly the cost of Athletic decline in Ghana. I know many will say that's not true but before you make such statements remember the current system keep student in school for three years maximum compare to the previous 7 years. I did the 7 years and started competing seriously in the fourth years but gave it up for my O-levels then continued in sixth-form. All the previous 100-Meter runners were in school for three to five years to better their skills and training regimen before leaving or continuing at the advance level. This helped as you had the same coaches who helped work on your weakness. All the male 100 meter runners who made it to the finals of the Olympic games or world championship came from the old school system. In the 80s, 90s and early 2000s, scholarships were regularly awarded to Ghanaian athletes to train in Europe and the USA. How many young Ghanaians have gotten athletics scholarship since Monica Twum and Vida Anim's era? That goes to tell you the effect the school system had on our athletics in Ghana. It'll remain so or even get worse unless a new system is developed to combat this lack of participation.

The problem is not corruption as much as it is the length of the school years. We have always had corruption in Ghana sports including football and athletics.

Athletics died over 10 years ago when we stopped helping/supporting talented juniors to the next level. The last group of stars to emerge was over 10 years ago. So how is Dodoo responsible? Or he is responsible that those stars are now too old to win medals? The juniors and fresh young seniors are the future. Athletics is on its way back despite the haters.

When you only have one competitor entered in an international event that says a lot about the state of that sport in the country. The question that fans of track and field should be asking Francis Dodoo is what is Ghana’s agenda for the next Olympics in Rio De Janeiro in 2016? Does he have any plans to discover and train track and field athletes for the Olympics knowing that the Games are only three years away?
