The Ghanaian penal system is archaic, rubbish and evil. Is it geared towards reforming a criminal or destroying an offender by turning them into career criminals. These sentences are pronounced by the so called educated citizens, who sholud know better, but I beg to say that they are 'crimininally illiterates'. How on earth can you sentence someone to 10 years in prison. I bet this poor soul comes from a poor background, hence the harsh punishment. Will this happen to a rich man's criminal son? I don't think so? God save us!

It appears the poor and underprivileged get raw deals in the courts of the country. The poor receive lengthy jail sentences for minor crimes while the powers that be who rape the country of its resources got scot free. A jail ...

The poor receive lengthy jail sentences for minor crimes while the powers that be who rape the country of its resources got scot free. A jail sentence of ten years for stealing two cell phones does not befit the crime.
