  Ghana mid-fielder, Mohammed Rabiu, is set for surgery today in Germany following a thigh injury he suffered last Thursday at his club, Kuban Krasnodar.
  
  Rabiu was forced to leave the pitch 20 minutes after the St. Gallen – Kuban Krasnodar Europa League game kicked off because of injury.
  
  The 23-year-old may come back to the pitch earlier than speculated by his club coach, Dorinel Munteanu, after the surgery as the operation would reverse the injury faster.
  
  The mid-fielder, who was expected to be sidelined for about six weeks and miss the Ghana-Egypt first leg 2014 World Cup play-off tie, now has his hopes high.
  
  Ghana are set to take on Egypt in a last round 2014 World Cup qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium on October 15.
