That Orlando Pirates coach seems to be anti Ghanaian. There was one other player that his team was going to sign up, but he denigrated this guy calling his competence into question. This guy joined a rival team in South Africa, and he has turned out to be the top goal scorer for his team. That coach is deliberately not using Fatau on a sabotague mission. Fatau should leave Orlando Pirates if he hopes to advance in his professional career. He should go back to Ghana and join one of the teams that is participating in one of the African Continental tournaments.

Just being active alone is not good enough; rather, being active and playing WELL. Olele just started playing, but he is not playing well. I doubt the Cypriot league has world class strikers, and laying almost two eggs in every match in Cyprus is not the sign of good goalkeeping.

I have just read this piece and this is my comments. Mr. Lexis Koufie-Amartey; you are a smart writer but you lack the technical sense of Football. I am thrilled with your opinion but am less enthused because I don't believe you know better than James Akwasi Appiah. He is the man in charge of affairs and he knows the caliber of players he would need for this encounter. Before he decided to invite Kingston he must have scouted him for a while and had assessed him against the other GKs. Besides the coach there are other technical hands who also had conducted some assessments. I don't believe you have ever sat on a team bench for a soccer match. If I should tell you the truth the coach is the first person who would like to win a match more so, a match like this pending one. Please, I understand your sentiments, but I trust you are crying more than the 'owners of the corpse' . Please I would however admonish you to refrain from vilifying Olele who through no fault of his had been invited to man the post for the National Team. Your piece can't nullify Olele's invitation. You can best pray for the team which is already victorious. Mr. Akwasi Appiah's move is rather the correct one. God bless The Black Stars... God bless mother Ghana...

As you rightly said. The young goal keepers need an experienced goalkeeper to show them the ropes and to help encourage them for the battle ahead with the Pharohs. Maybe this is the reason why Coach Appiah has brought Kingston in.
Maybe if Kingston uses his organization skills to control the defense and help them to gel well, he wouldn't have to rely on sharp instincts to save any balls, because the organized defense would have dealt with tricky situations. Ryan Gigs is over 40 yrs old isn't he? He is still playing football at the highest level and turning heads. As all soccer savvy people know. Goal keeping is the only position where age is an advantage instead of hindrance. The list will go on and on about goalkeepers who have done excellent jobs at old age. Because in defense, its more of good anticipation and pace that gets the job done. When we criticize players so much in public, it plays havoc on their mentally and psychology and this translates into physical form. The players are tense during their games and they easily pick injuries because of these. They doubt their abilities and instead of focusing on the game at hand. Negative vibes play on their nerves and they are not able to execute. Compare to a free-flowing player who has confidence in themselves. More often we hear coaches talking of mental strength of players being able to carry them through difficult patches in their carrier. Let us be behind the coaches and the players and help build up their confidence instead of being negative about these call ups. Which goalkeeper would you have played? In matches like the one the Stars will be playing. Experienced should be chosen over youth. The reason why Arsenal with all they young stars are failing to win trophies is the lack of steel in the team more than lack of talent or skills. We need men, and I mean men who can handle the hostilities the Egyptians are going to show us on and off the field. We need men who can handle crowd pressure and frustrations which may be borne out of refereeing mistakes. We need men who can standup to the opposition in more than football terms. Trust me. For a national side we need people who will be brave to put their necks on the chopping board. We need men with mature hairy balls.

He has great prospects,” Ansah said. hahahaaaa! who is edward ansah. ansah benefited from huge media hype and he returned from nigeria to assume ghana's number 1 goal keeper. by then salifu ansah had left kotoko. edward ansah came to ghana and created the impression he was going to register for hearts again, then in the last minute swerved to register for kotoko. he became a darling of the kotoko-biased media. before bukhard ziese took over the realms of ghana football a section of the media gave very denegrading publicity for certain players. edward ansah was not any extra ordinary goal keeper during his days. he was a humble person highly educated just as the present goal keepers trainer. in terms of goal keeping techniques, edward ansah, abubakari damba & nasamu yakubu are not the ones capable of uping the output of blackstars players. this is the reason why our blackstars goal keepers keep exhibiting flaws when they keep the post of the blackstars. sammy agyei started spilling balls when edward ansah was appointed. kingson was super when he re-joined the blackstars but somewhere along the lines he started showing some traces of the flaws of edward ansah. all the goalkeepers thereafter have been exhibiting flaws at the blackstars level but not at club level and i attribute this to the incapability of edward ansah, abubakari damba and nasamu yakubu. we need either joseph carr or simon addo now
