Adam Kwarasey would be the man between the sticks come Brazil 2014. Essien-Muntari would pivot again come 2014. Please where were you in 2006 when Ratomir Dujkovic was handing the Black Stars how did he do at 2006 CAN in Egypt we did not get out the group stage no one called for help for him or requested that they should go and look for a white face to help him.

What beats my mind though is the fact that Ghana has had technical directors all along. In both 2006 and 2010, Ghanaians were the technical directors and this time too we still have one so I just don't understand what people mean by this technical director nonsense. They just don't understand what's the role of he who takes that position that's why so many trash is going on. Yes its a fact that we can't go to Brazil with this weak defence; we will be punished big time if we don't improve. Though our midfield is good l wonder why we cannot groom one or two of our young (under 20) players to shadow Essien, Kwadwo Asamoah and Muntari. We should groom under 20 guys like Aboagye, Anaba and Odjer who can dribble, disorganize defence and create chances for other strikers to score.

Again one of our weaknesses is our inability to hold on to the ball for more than a minute. Yes, another problem is our very POOR passes. Under intense pressure our players can only complete about 40-45% of passes and to me that is not World Cup standard; not at all. Also our over reliance on Asamoah Gyan is unwise if not suicidal. Assifuah and one other under 20 striker should be called to join the Black Stars in preparation for Brazil.

That Aboagye guy is a dangerous player who torments defence to create chances. To me, he is better than many of the senior players considering his age.

Lastly Akwasi Appiah needs technical team for defence, midfield and striking. How do these three departments work together effectively? Well every international team and League teams(EPL, Bundesliga, La liga etc) have technical teams helping the head coach (Manager). We shouldn't fool ourselves into thinking that having a technical team means Akwasi Appiah is ineffective. No, He is only one person and his technical team will rather make him more successful.

We will have to win 4 matches to qualify to play the quarter-finals in Brazil. Do we have enough good guys to fill in for injuries and suspensions? Our main goalkeeper must be challenged as the writer says. Fatau Dauda is not a World Cup material and if he is going to be our number one keeper then he has to improve from his current D grade to B by March 2014. For Ghana to go pass quarter-finals in Brazil we will need to do serious work. Next World Cup is going to be tougher than before looking at the quality of players and Team work/performances these days
and in the qualifying matches all over the World.

I hope GFA and Akwasi Appiah are reading this.
