Let's give him time; he's bend on proving something to both his critics and admirers. He has Essien in his strategy for the champions league long before Ginkel's injury. His injury has just given Mourinho inexcusable opportunity but Essien was in his plan long before this time. We all recall how he inactivated some key players in RM just to help Essien.

Not even Abramovich knows Maourino's plan for any individual player, let alone Essien who has fallen off the perk and has settled for a fringe role. You better be realistic with your expectations and stop decieving yourself. Is Chelsea the only club Essien can play for,? Drogba who was Essien's colleague at Chelsea will never settle for a fringe role in any club no matter how big the club is and that's why he refused Chelsea's one year extention to his contract when it expired. Better Essien be adviced to leave Chelsea before he is thrown into the transfer market for free. Drogba, Malouda, Kaloun, Ballak etc. will all be sad Essien has reduced himself to a fringe player in Chelsea when he could establish himself better somewhere else.

essiens form was down long time ago,even b4 he went 2 real Madrid,but because he is such a top top player,a legend of the game,one of the best I've ever seen in my life time,
he was still useful in so many ways.
we all knew he needed time 2 be fully fit.
I saw his 1st game at Swindon,i thought he is comin back slowly,next game was also a league cup,where he captained the team again.
he played well again even thou a bit rusty.
so playin for Ghana only gave him more game time and a chance to show Ghanaians wot we are missin.against Egypt first leg was like a professor and students.so mourinho knows essien beta than we do and nothing 2 do wiv ghanas qualification to the world cup.
we need to understand also that football is an age thing,many times Ghanaians 4get this,i think if we goin to brazil wiv this akwasi appiah[not my favourate but that's anotha story],then we need to know how we use him.
we cant expect magic from him all the time,essien can be effective in so many ways,we need 2 learn 2 use him like theres 2morr,only then we can get the best out of him,we cant depend on him.

it wasn't about qualification,[players wiv experience in Germany and south Africa,had a taste of the big time, were too hungry,failure wasn't an option,any coach cud'ave done that].
i thought we shud'ave won it in south Africa,i thought the stage was set but we started celebrating too quickly secretly in our heads,and I dnt think this coach akwesi appiah is strong himself mentally 2 get the players in that mind set 2 avoid getting carried away wen we get praised.

I think Mourinho reserved him purposely to honor his national responsibilities because of Essiene's frequent injuries lately. The right time has come for him to feature for his club as Ghana qualifies for the world cup.

Ghanaians especially Ghanaian journalists love to mislead their readers just to satisfy the agenda 'self deciet', what this journalist has put out hear is totally an attempt to make Ghanaians believe Essien is back in top form hense Maourino's decision to register him for the champions league, he even tries to claim Essiens form at world cup qualifiers enabled Maourino's decisions to register him for the champions league, if that were the case and Ginkel was not injured at all, would there have been an opening space or opportunity to register Essien. Why will you not discuss the reasons Essien has become a fringe player in Chelsea and encourage him to move on somewhere instead of decieving Ghanaians Essien is deserving of being a worthy replacement for a 20 year old Marco Van Ginkel. I can assure you a player who is worth his value of challenge elsewhere will not settle for a soft spot just to partronise a coach by calling him "my daddy" just to seek his favour for attention. Is it not a shame Essien remains at Chelsea just to play a fringe role or a replacement for 20 year old first choice.? Lets call a spade a spade, its time for Essien to leave Chelsea. PERIOD.
