The first goal scored was clearly a rusty Dauda not able to punch the ball away. It will be nice to have two trusted goalies at the WC but we should not make it sound like without Dauda we are doomed. This article is just a propaganda.

My question is that does Coach Appiah through this communication understand that it is okay for Fatau to be sitting in the stands while the world cup is approaching? Because as it stands now Fatau is not even a third choice keeper at the club as he has been most the time spotted in the stands during match days.

Which coach in his normal senses would gamble fielding a poor performing Golie at training?
Fatau Dauda though is yet to play for Orlando, has proven beyond doubt that he is better and Kwesi Appiah and the players know it. Infact the defenders are confident with Fatau in the post unlike they are when Kwarasey is.
Give us a break and continue reading below;
Many keep talking about Fatau Dauda being rusty, not playing; he is on the bench etc.
Kwarasey on the otherhand is not proving his worth at training with the Stars either. Kwarasey can be the best Golie in the world but if at training ground where all our Stars who are equal in calibre and even better than some world class players we are going to face at the World Cup assemble to try him and Dauda and he fails to live up to the task or expectation, Akwasi Appiah will continue to use Dauda and it makes perfect sense period!
Orlando Pirates I knew came in quickly for Dauda because they know his worth and what he can do with time to come. They also knew he will be a Star and worth millions after the World Cup, hence bought him from hungry Gold Fields who lacked that fore sight.
This Fatau guy is very good but most Ghanains are just failing or intentionally do not want to admit. Watch his tapes at AFCON 2013 and the crutial qualifiers and be the judge. It takes a golie with a heart to withstand the pressure of qualifiers to help his nation qualify.
Also, watch Kwarasey's tapes of AFCON 2012 in Guinea and be the judge as well.
For those who don't know or fail to admit, there are technical differences between league matches, qualifying series and tournaments like the AFCON and World Cup. With the league matches players and teams always play with known faces and teams on their own soil. Qualifying series on the otherhand does not give the teams the luxury opportunity to play the teams and players they know totally on their home soil; they meet teams randomly picked for them. Tournaments are completely different, here you play various matches almost on few days’ basis and are keenly competitive; sometimes you don't even know the team you are playing in the next round should you qualify.
With the above analysis, you'll agree with me that Kwarasey can be the best in the Norwegian league, captain of his side and the voted best goalie. However, tournaments and qualifying series are different ball games. Does he have the confidence for the later two? Have we not seen his best at a tournament? Be the judge.
Dauda was his side's captain too (Obuasi Goldfields) and he won man of the match at the AFCON 2013 in South Africa (a rare achievement for Goal Keepers). He performs at training with the Black Stars and the technical team sees and knows it period. It is up to the Coach and the Keeper's trainer to sharpen his loose ends and he's a gem! Orlando Pirates know that. It is just unfortunate he met another great Goalie at the team.
Kwarasey by my estimation is not playing for any team outside Norway where he lived almost all his life. He probably might be on the bench for a team outside Norway too just like Fatau who was regular with Obuasi GF.
Let's see who is better to be in the post at the World Cup In the coming months, when they both get to keep in our friendly matches.
Have you thought of this? If FATAU is on the bench at his team and performs for us to pick a spot at the World Cup, it simply attest to the quality of this guy. Why too much hate for this young promising Golie. You guys always do the bidding for players who are either half-cast or born abroad even if they are no match to the local ones why!

I wonder why this has become subject for discussion. We all started singing the praise him song the very first day kwarasey distinguished himself in a high profile friendly against almighty Brazil. Had it not been his timing and world class saves, we would been humilated on that fateful. I mean his acrobatic save was a delight to watch not forgetting Ronaldiho's free kicks. Besides, this is a guy who defied all odds by pledging his international allegiance to Ghana notwithstanding his exposure in one of European's elite competition thus, the Europa league. Above all, he has crown an amazing season by leading his club stromgodset to win the Norwegian league and voted best goalkeeper. With this accolades, I wonder what it takes to be nations number one if only watching from the stands is better. We should bear in mind that the world cup is the biggest stage where all dreaded strikers will surely showcase their potency in front of goal so the earlier we begin to give this loyal boy the chance, the better. I rest my case.

Appiah's own formula "If a player doesn't get enough playing time for his club, he will not call him". So, what has changed? Instead of making PR for F. Dauda, we should face the reality and see how best we can help the poor chap from his predicament. No one is against any body, however, football, especially Black Star matches are dear to the hearts of every Ghanaian and for that matter we should unit as one people send the very best materials that we can assemble for Brazil 2014. A word to the wise is enough.

My turn, I know you era very concerned about our team and its prospects just as I am and many contributing on this forum. Akwasi Appiah few days ago said he will now consider non-regular Black Stars players at their various teams in the national team. You see, the technical team is beginning to realize that some of the non-regular players are potential savers of the national team having seen them play at their club's training grounds and Black Stars camp.
Various reasons account for a player to be benched; right from dislike of a coach to politics in their respective clubs.
I would prefer Daniel Agyei to be in our post to Kwarasey, for he has played in a high profile tournament winning gold. I keep saying league matches are far different from tournaments and Kwarasey is not a tournament goalie. I watched him in the post against Chile in Philly and my brother, what is called confidence is severely lacking in the guy. Friendly match against Brazil is not a tournament so that yardstick does not hold.

A michael essiem for eg on the bench at chelsea is a better choice than a hearts of oak starting midfielder who is playing everyday. It does not however mean we should take chances with a rusty player.

What all Ghanaians must do is to put pressure on AA to give Kwarasey a chance. In friendly matches to keep him sharp before WC because to me he is out only hoops right now.
AA has a sorry grudge against Kwarasey.
In my opinion AA seems to think that he has to give the native son, Dauda a chance. What should be important here is Kwarasey now is far better than the current #1 . At the least he has been the #1 at the club level and has seen a lot of action. That matters most. It is nonsense for AA to think.that he will play non action player like Dsuda who had shown a leaking hands. It is our mid field that Hamas been keeping us alive. WC is a serious business and not for club bench warmers and not to mention the fact that he is sometimes even a spectator. AA is being too much anti foreign and should be warn or else no contract renewal for him if Ghana exit because of bad goal keeping Ghana play defensive game and no attacking football.
My suggestion is qualifying from group match is not A+ work group is far easier than WC. We need a capable hands in goal. And it stance now Kearasey has been better in team action than the current dude. After all Norway lesgue is no less than SA league. I give my vote to Kwsrasey. God bless my beloved mother Ghana.

I think u are even blind the AAA. If u watched our matches well u can say that fatau is not in good form based on his current problem at club level. But if AAA is not going there to win a laurel then he should fixe in a rusty materials in the team since he fonds of doing it. At the end of the wcp with a bad result ,he "AAA" will lose his job but those rusty players he is fixing during his time might be call up for the stars job but AAA will be at home and jobless so the choice is urs... staph keep quiet if u have nothing to.say..
