The only person who is in good form is Yahaya Toure and he deserves to be given the title again. It is so foolish to choose Drogba and Mikel ahead of Gyan. The presence of Mikel in d mid-field is what every successful team will like to have. Gyan is a striker while Mikel is a mid-fielder. Don't ever compare there roles. Against Mali in Afcon, Mikel made all Malian players blind. He took over d mid-field and outclassed everybody. This is a dsame Mali that beat our black stars 3-1. Against, cote d'ivore, Drogber himself testified to the strenght of Mikel in d mid-field. Our world cup player is in Chelsea now that is not even considered good for the bench again, Mikel is playing every week. How can we say Mikel is not good? Gyan's value has gone down. How can CAF give award to th player playing in UAE. Enyeama, Johnathan, Emenike are even have better chance than this Gyan. Black Star as a team needs overhauling. Enough of ds embarrassment.

Uh! Why do Ghanaian fooball followers think everything told them by ignorant Ghanaian football commentators are the gospel truth about the standards of Ghanaian football. The rest of Africa and of course the world don't see football in Ghana as any different from what pertains in the average football countries as Mali, Burkina Faso, DR Congo,Zambia and even Cape Verde all of that gave Ghana a scare in the past. These countries and indeed other African countries don't have any respect for Ghana save for the quarter final at the world which in itself is nothing special cos others had been there in a more spectacular way than Ghana.

How can Asamoah Gyan be listed in the first place when the Black Stars in the last 32 years are still striggling to win a trophy but only make all the noise because of quater final berth at the world cup. Ghanaian delude themself into thinking Black Stars have no equal in Africa just for the reason of a quarter final berth at the world cup; that is the level of self praise and ego massaging that make smaller football countries cut Ghana to size in any tournaments. Ghanaians are like the British people who always want to be praized even when everything points to the wrong directions. How can Ghana Black Stars claim to be one of the best in the world when Ghana struggle against minnows at your backyard Africa. Ghanaian football radio commentators claimed AFCON 2013 tournament was there to be taken because the likes of Egypt and Cameroons were not in attendance and therefore a foregone conclusion the cup had only one route to Ghana, ironically the only thing Ghana took to the AFCON 2013 was the credentials of the last world cup performances and a demand for respect for others to bow; how terribly Ghana was wrong when DR Congo, Cape Verde, Mali and Burkina Faso thought the Black Stars bitter lessons of how not to open your mouth too wide because African football is no longer a preserve or reside in any particular country.

Football in Ghana is not seen by the rest of Africans as Ghanaians want the world to believe hense the shocking removeval of Asamoah Gyan's name from the all time performers of 2013 best African footballers list. Like the typical Ghanaian football commentators reminiscent of the British fame seeking football journalists will overwhelm the airwaves with their arrogant postulations of why Ghanaian football must have been the best Africa raking stale event of the Black Stars world cup performances. Uh! Its a shame Ghanaians are leaning too much backward to the past world cup performances, forgeting that a past world cup performances particularly for an Aftican country like Ghana that participated in just 2 world cup cannot be trasient; you can only be good as your current form based on your preparations. Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria have been there before and today they are most humble world cup participants brcause the know world cup is terrain of lots of uncertainties so Ghana should pick lessons from African world cup history and talk with caution.

Africanus you are very right, this was a country that tounted themselves as title contenders before the AFCON tournament, they even claimed they were favouratest o pick the cup but soon as they were declassified by the likes of Mali, DR Congo and Burkina Faso; they quickly found excuse in not going to tournament with their best players. The question is did they not know they were without their best players when they concluded the cup was heading to Ghana, a bloated ego that smarks lack of respect for other African countries.
I cannot see any other quality players Ghana did not go to the tournament with, is it the dead horse Micheal Essien or half fit Kevin Prince or the cronic indescipline Sulley Muntari or the clubless John Mensah. I think Ghana should learn to give others respect.

Ghana out of disrespect for others did not even see the likes of Nigeria the eventual winners, Ivory Coast who have been standard bearer toplists FIFA African football ranking, Ghana even saw Zambian victory in the previous tournaments in Equitorial Guinea and defending champions as not deserving of it and could not even credit them with that honour and respect. Not even Mali or Burkina Faso who eventually kicked Black Stars disgracefully out of the tournament were deserving of respect from the Ghanaians. A case of every downfall is preceeded with pride.

Let's be realistic, Gyan does play competitive soccer in the Arab world. He is chasing money instead of name. That is the price we are going to pay for in the WC. Playing in big clubs differ from playing in the Arab world amidst inexperience players.

Please be fair, Mikel is not all that good. He is just an average player. Gyan, Eto'o, and even Ghana's Asamoah are all better than Mikel. I can only credit Nigeria with one thing. They have the best set of goalies in Africa.

As at now, you can not compare him to Yahaya Toure, Eto and Drogba. Gyan is palying amidst weak players who have no name in soccer.

The point is that we must encourage Gyan and even Esien so that their confidence is not eroded by decisions taken by others in and outside their clubs. Look at the FIFA rankings for example, we always beat teams ahead of us in the rankings, so the rankings mean nothing, that is why I always rely on my own observation, and I know who the best player is and I know that Osei Kofi, Robert Mensah, Polo and if you like Abedi are the best players Ghana has ever seen. I know Gyan is one of the best on the continent, he has no fear, he is fast powerful and skillful. I have no doubt in my mind that what he has done in 2 WC, he is capable of doing even better come Brazil 2014.

Nigeria was the first African nation to win Olympic gold in football. We have also won Olympic gold medals in track and fied, yet you ask 'what is nigeria'? You asked what is Nigeria and yet your country could not defeat Burkina faso and mali, the countries we defeated to win the 2013 AFCON. You Ghanaians are probably pretending that you are not aware that your football is not going backward. To cover up for your failures, you abuse nations and individuals that have not more than you. You compare a below average player, a player that misses 8 out of 10 chances(Gyan) with Mikel. Jealousy kills, and that is why Ghana is not progressing . Tell me, was any cup given to Ghana for getting to the last 8?In addition, you claimed 90% of Nigerians prayed that Ghana should lose. What would be the concern of 150 Million Nigerians with what Ghana was doing. Even our National Team does not enjoy followership of 50% of the population of Nigeria as people are so busy with their daily commercial activities than to be concerned withy football. Please note that Countries like Cameroun and Senegal had gone to the last 8 almost 20 years before Ghana did. The fact is this: Tell me any cup that the Black stars have won in the last 32 years? The answer is in the negative. Rather to be concerned, you are busy bragging about a Team that has won nothing in the last 32 years and a Country that has not produced the African Footballer of the year since 1992.
