Crime & Punishment of Saturday, 25 January 2014

Two policemen who have been extorting monies from people who withdraw monies from automated teller machines (ATM) have been arrested.

The two officials, whose names were not given, are believed to be members of a group engaged in such operations.

According to a statement signed by the Director General of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, DCOP (Rev) David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin, the two were arrested upon intelligence from the public.

It said, a third member, General Lance Corporal Adu Poku is currently on the run.

The statement noted that investigations into the operations of the policemen have started in earnest and the public would be duly informed of the outcome.

The Police Service expressed appreciation to individuals who volunteered information which led to the arrest of the policemen.

Akuffu and opoku seemed to be complementing each other in midfield, but that is not how to do play midfield. Akuffu can not play as a 6 and opoku was all over. Don't blame yaya. If he has no one to help him. He has no choice than to hold the ball for others to run into the 18. The gh players wernt doing that either. So yaya must hold the ball to get fouls. Yaya is not even a striker, so how do you play him uptop as a 1 minute striker? Only experienced strikers like Ronaldo, eto, drogba, weah can play as 1 atop strikers! Blame clueless Konadu. After going through group games and statistics, I realized Ghana has the team to diffuse Nigeria attack. We have so far conceded a goal and they have swallowed about eleven goals. That make our defense very tight and if we can sneak in just one goal, we will carry the day and proceed to win the cup. Out of the four teams left, only Ghana top its group and Libya happened to be from our group, that made our group one of depth.
Though players are not playing their possessive and entertaining/agoro soccer, I think their coach is being strategic and I doff my heart to the team strategy.

The Ghana team I saw in the championship is a shadow of its self. They need to raise their game if they want to reach the finals. The team has been riding on the back of mother luck. Yahaya Muhammad falls on the ground so easily. Bancey lacks bite. Against Nigeria, they have to perfect their passes and have a good marksman. The defenders are good but they have to work harder to soak the pressure from the rampaging Eagles. Best of luck.
