What is this coach talking about? I based in South Africa I did watch all the matches of Ghana I can say for certain that there is no player in that Ghana team that is world cup material. The players are not physically fit technically misfit. We got to that stage just by luck. We were outplayed in all our matches. No individual skills and no game plan.

I guess some of the defenders did good especially, the Adusei, Ainooson, Nuru and the goalkeeper Adams can be given a shot in some friendly but the rest are "bongums and nyamas".

Save these players and some of the under 20 group for AFCON 2015. They should be seasoned by then. At this time, I do not think they can handle the pressure of WC play. They played a solid defensive game at CHAN and are to credited for that but if you put these same players in front of teams like Portugal, Germany and even USA, they would not get the lucky penalty calls and would end up with draws or losses. The CHAN was interesting but we all know it is an experimental tournament so it is hard to judge how good the players really were. I like the back line and goalie from the CHAN team. They are the future, but let us not rush these players. Let us let Gyan, Essien, Muntari, Prince, Dede, KASA and co. do their thing. It is their time and this is their last chance to make their legacy. No need for drastic moves. Remember, many on this forum criticized Appiah and thought we could not beat Zambia or Egypt. What happened? We were quite convincing in qualifying for the World Cup. This team is quite capable. No need to panic.

The dream of a locally based striker is simply a dream. Clottey got a chance at CAN 2013 and could not do much. Before Clottey, I remember at the disaster of CHAN 2011 there were these two local strikers that everyone was excited about. I think one was Flamenyo and the other was a Ga guy. I forget his name. They failed to shine. Here is the reality...When it comes to strikers, the person has to have 1) significant European experience and/or 2) be a foreign born player who has grown up with an attacking mindset since they were a youngster. Ghana can produce good defenders and defensive midfielders but not attacking players. Let us be honest: The best attacking Ghanaian players do not play for Ghana. They are Ballotelli of Italy and Welbeck of Ghana. Painful to admit but true.

Coach MRAA should desist from the word regularity or consistency from any player, being local or international. Our national #1 goalie has been hired to be spectator at Orlando Pirates camp. But he will be the first at camp for our next month friendly match against Montenegro. Only Stephen Adams deserves a chance if I were the coach but just last week, coach MRAA came out vehemently that, he was not going to bow to public pressure to select any player.

So what the heck consistency was he talking about!
