In addition to the huge sums of money the state pumps into the GFA,CAF, FIFA and multi-natinal sporting goods companies make large contributions that have never to been accounted for! And what really gets to me is the fact that after all is said and done,the players are often short-changed with nickles and dimes.

Given our regular appearance at these rich tournaments,and the reported dizzying transfer fees the GFA and individual clubs make from selling off local talents all over the globe,you will think these people would have the good sense to provide better financial support to promote our own premier league. A handful of club and GFA officials pocket all the revenue inflows,but cannot meet players salaries for 2-3 months. This is just unbelievable!!!

Its about time we got really really objective about the real impact our passion for soccer has brought to the nation in economic terms. Uniting the nation…yes, that’s good…but that is not enough if people are going hungry and electricity or other amenities are in shambles and education is in tatters and graduates can’t find jobs….

I love soccer…but this is getting out of hand each day….a country without priorities! By the way, do you know what $20million+ can do for the economy? We have been investing in soccer —- yes…but now please, I need someone to show me the dividends economically!
