Finally a bear comes along and asks, "What are you doing?"

Rabbit: "I'm doing a thesis on how rabbits eat bears." Bear: "Well that's absurd!" Rabbit: "Come into my home and I'll show you."

SCENE: Inside the rabbit's burrow. In one corner, there is a pile of German fox bones. In another corner is a pile of Ghanaian wolf bones. On the other side of the room a huge lion is belching and picking his teeth.

MORAL: It doesn't matter what you choose for a thesis topic. It doesn't matter what you use for your data. It doesn't even matter if your topic makes sense. What matters is who you have for a thesis advisor.

But this serves as a wakeup call for the famous Black Stars, coach James "Silent Killer" Kwesi Appiah and Ben " Oracle " Kuoffie. The die is cast and from now on Time Will Fly. Get the troops ready, get the formations ready, get the gunfighters ready , get the goalies ready.

A fair picture of our football; poor technique, outdated coaches, no youth system; no modern training pitches and equipment for ball technique and power fitness, less than a handful of our players outside the country play in the elite leagues and neither do they hold 1st team places, misappropriation of funds by those in charge, best striker in Ghana league scores an average 10 goals out of over 40 games in a season and physically we look far from modern soccer athletes.

Accept it, our successes come from the Raw & unpolished talents of our players by the grace of God who showers us with such talents.

The FIFA ranking is not a hide-and-seek game.

Ghana have not won any non-CAF friendlies since 2010 (four whole years). Even in the buga-buga AFCON, Ghana drew with Guinea (ranked 62) and Congo DR (ranked 91); and lost to Burkina Faso (ranked 62), Mali (ranked 59), and Zambia (ranked 75).

As for non-African matches, forget it! They got beat by Korea Republic (ranked 61) and Japan (ranked 50); and drew with Saudi Arabia (ranked 75) and China (ranked 88).

They have not got any result from any of the few low-ranked non-African teams they have played. Yet, we have these incompetent GFA people making mouth mouth about advancing in the World Cup. We even have a second-string goalie in the South African league, who has never faced a shot from a non-African player or striker before, but yet boasting that he is going to stop the current winner of the Ballon d’Or. He better concentrate on stopping balls from hitting Orlando Pirates’ net before he could talk about the world cup.

Everybody in the world knows that Ghana is overrated, except some of here foolish fans here. You people better stop drinking the water in Ghana. It might be making you blind and stupid, if you cannot see the state of soccer under these GFA officials and their coach.

I am glad that the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde have overtaken the Black Stars. They have a local black coach, who also has a regular job being an air traffic controller. Go Blue Sharks!

Here we go again with the so-called ranking, or measurement or what have you. Think about it this as the same way we were misled in the measurement of our GDP. The yardstick used for the measurement is purposely constructed for them. Recall how in 2010, all of a sudden when Ghana decided to measure the same GDP with a different yardstick, it was discovered that a whopping 60% of economic output was not captured over more than a decade. It is because we were doing how they thought us to measure GDP based on how they measure theirs. Meanwhile, the settings of our economic structure is different, and so cannot be gauged perfectly with mechanism developed for their settings. And for the underestimation that went on for decades, Ghana was called names like poor country, HIPIC, developing country, emerging economy....whatever pleases the deciders....(even part of the continent is called "Horn of Africa" : so ask yourself, who/what has horn?)
All this has a psychological effect. We all know how branding of a product works in marketing. Branding and packaging of a product adds an imaginary value to it while playing (fooling) on the consumers' inability to distinguish between what constitute the actual or intrinsic value of the product from the psychological added value.
This is exactly the game being played on us: from now till the June 2014, we will see a lot of these. Not only on the BS team as a whole, but we will see a lot of attacks on individual players. At the same time we will see a lot of praises on the other sides. We need to understand that all this forms parts of the underground, unofficial pre-game game that they are trying to win in order to demoralize African teams. Playing down our ability and capability will only work if we don't believe in ourselves and allow others to tell us or measure who we are with their own meter constructed for their own purpose. Well, it worked for them prior to slavery and colonization and evangelization of Africa. If we let it happen in the 21st century again, then we only have ourselves to blame.
These ranking shouldn't fool us: if we should use it at all, it should be a motivating factor for us to double our training/efforts to prove them wrong. There will be double measurement during the game itself against African teams. For the same tackle, an African will be red carded while others will get only yellow, even none. Clean goals will be ruled off-side for Africans while an “in flagrante delicto” off-side goals will be validated for others. The road to the cup will be made humanly impossible for African teams. But we will prevail!!!!!!
How do we combat against unfair treatment before and during the game? One good way is to take it to the social media. One thing for sure, journalists will not speak for us. Those who would want to, simply don’t have the voice. But we can do it ourselves by leveraging the power of social media: We need to take it to tweeter and facebook ourselves. So get your phones ready and sign-up on social media and make sure you send your comments, observations, disagreements …. of referee malpractice or unfair match officiating. By being present on the social media, the whole world will see and judge, and they will feel ashamed of their flagrante delicto. Social media is our atomic bomb against unfair treatment. African teams are tired of fair play trophies. In fact, we were given those fair plays for being docile and for accepting to be walked over. We want the cup itself, because we merit it on equal footage like the so-called big teams.
