With an average defence Ronaldo could be completely crippled. The Swedish defence was so porous and weak. Our weakest defence would be better than that. I see Ghana and Germany qualifying from that group.

Opare is just an attention seeker and nothing more, otherwise how can Opare tune a whole nation's attentions to Ronaldo just for the purpose of serving his personal ambition of appearing at the world cup. Ghana's Black Stars is playing against Portugal and not against Ronaldo so Opare should spare us his attention seeking statements. Opare's comments already suggests Ghana has lost the game before stepping on the turf if beating Portugal means over focusing on Ronaldo. Let no one think the Portugese are fools and wouldn't know their Ronaldo is their trump card to beating any team, not the least Black Stars who are the minnows of group 'G'; Paying too much attention on Ronaldo simply weakens opponent's strategies and exposes them to others to do the scoring. Opare could take or leave it, Ronaldo as it stands today and through the World Cup is a property of FIFA, there'll be double protections on Ronaldo than the total set up Black Stars therefore your tackles of Ronaldo must be carefully measured else Ghana will end up playing 9 against 11 when Black Stars meet Portugal at the World Cup.

This farmer has about 500 hens from all over the World, but no rooster, and he wants chicks. So, he goes down the road to the next farmer and asks if he has a rooster that he would sell. The other farmer says, "Yep, I've got this great rooster, named Black Star. He'll service every chicken you got, no problem."
Well, Black Star the rooster costs \$3,000, a lot of money, but the farmer decides he'd be worth it. So, he buys Black Star. The farmer takes Black Star home and sets him down in the barnyard, but first he gave the rooster a pep talk. "I want you to pace yourself now. You've got a lot of chickens to service here, and you cost me a lot of money. Consequently, I'll need you to do a good job.! So, take your time and have some fun," the farmer said, with a chuckle.!
Black Star seems to understand, so the farmer points toward the hen house and Black Star takes off like a shot. WHAM! Black Star nails every Asian hen in the hen house - three or four times, and the farmer is really shocked.
After that, the farmer hears a commotion in the American duck pen and, sure enough, Black Star is in there. Later, the farmer sees Black Star after a flock of German Geese down by the lake. Once again - WHAM! He gets all the German geese. By sunset he sees Black Star out in the fields chasing Portuguese quail and pheasants.
The farmer is distraught and worried that his expensive rooster won't even last 24 hours. Sure enough, the farmer goes to bed and wakes up the next morning to find Black Star on his back out in the middle of the yard, mouth open, tongue hanging out and both feet sticking straight up in the air. Brazilian Vultures are circling overhead.
The farmer, saddened by the loss of such a colorful and expensive animal, shakes his head and says, "Oh, Black Star, I told you to pace yourself. I tried to get you to slow down, now look what you've done to yourself."

Yes, I would go for the jocular. That said, as good as Ronaldo is, there are other ten really good players on the Portuguese national team. The strategy is not only to stop Ronaldo, but the other ten players as well. The winning strategy is to score goals. Coach Appiah, prepare Baby Jet, Majib, Prince Boateng, Dede Ayub, etc. We need to focus on winning and not just on stopping one player. We need to defeat the pretenders USA team. As much as I love USA, soccer is a different ball game. We must challenge Germany at all levels of the game.

Ask my Sunday morning stars team mates at Kotobabi. We still harbor in our heart the desire for flashy play. Physically we cannot go through with what our mind suggests. But it's nice to see the real stars like Polo, Annas, Coach Sly Tetteh and Coach Dauda etc playing devotedly on our side. It's amazing when at the beginning of the game Christians pray, and then Moslems pray. I cherish the cordiality among believers of the two religions. Elsewhere in the Middle East, the faithful adherents of the two world religions are at war. At kotobabi Sunday Morning Stars game, we share brotherhood.

Oh I forgot about Ronaldo. I guess he's not menacing once we have our own game plan. Black star defenders-- just play hard and smart. Black star offensive players -- just bang in the goals. Black stars mid-fielders -- you are the glue to strengthen our defense and to sharpen our attack.
