  The Asantehene is not owner of the football club, Kotoko. He should not have the prerogative over the affairs of the club. A cursory look into the club's history shows that the club was formed by an Ashanti guy who had nothing to do with the Asantehene at that time. The Asante kingdom was attached to the club to give its name and pride. This is the reason why the Asantehene at the time became attached to the club. Aside from that the occupant of Asante kingdom stool have nothing to say about the team Kotoko.
