  Portugal what have they got. Here is the assessment of their troops:
  
  1. Miguel Veloso : A struggling player who is on the way down as far as his skills are concerned. He commits blunders, easily slips and falls. On the other hand, he plays above average sometimes and clears the way for CR7 and others to score. He also features in many defensive blunders.
  
  2. Paul Meireles : Inconsistent player. But a good passer on good day. Generally he is a "by-heart" player.
  
  3. Joao Moutinho : He is very good defensively and makes excellent ball interceptions. He acts as pivot for launching Portuguese attacks and combines speed with precise ball execution. He is a goal-maker for Christiano Ronaldo (CR7). He plays for Monaco.
  
  4. William Carvalho : Slightly faded player but still a forcefull player.
  
  5.Rui Patricio: Goal-keeper with above average skills. Fatawu is slightly better than him. He is so error-prone as was the case in the Portugal v Israel game, Sporting v Benfica game. He fumbled with Ibrahamovic's free-kick in the Portugal v Sweden game. He leaves juicy rebounds and has poor corner-kick anticipation skills. He has good days and bad days. On a bad day, you could fly a plane through his legs and he would not even be aware of it.
  
  6.Joao Pereira: A very nervous defender. He plays for Valencia. He plays well in a 4-4-2 formation. He likes to go forward than stay back as a defender. Joao usually likes to send long crosses to CR7. Just like Muntari sometimes does in a match.
  
  7. Fabio Centrao: He is an injury prone player. Very good in sending put-through passes to CR7. He serves as the linkman to CR7. Appiah must find a way to neutralize his play
  
  8. Pepe: An over-the-hill player. He played poorly in the 2012/13 season. He plays for Real Madrid. Essien knows his style of play well. Appiah should consult with Essien. Pepe can really get physical at times. He has considerable speed. Loves to sweep and scoop loose balls and scores like the phobian Peter Lamptey( Goal Thief) and Kotoko's Opoku Bayie Afriyie.
  
  9. Bruno Alves: Very frightening and imposing player. He cannot be beaten in the air if he jumps when on the run. But he has a problem. He is poor in the air if jumping from a standing position. He has clay feet. He usually partners with Pepe. Usually has on and off days so far as his skills are concerned.
  
  10. Richardo Costa and Antumes are substitutes
  
  11. Christiano Ronaldo.: Peerless maestro, goal scorer, dribbler and playmaker. He is the live-wire of the team. His talismanic influence must be quenched in order to pave way for the Black Stars victory. Commander Appiah should use Atsu to imitate CR7's playing style so that the Black Stars midfield can practise how to defend against CR7.

  My brother Ghanaba suppose you are in charge of the GFA and commissioned me to command the famous Black Stars against Portugal in a winner-takes-all game. This is exactly the strategy I will use:
  
  Strategy 1: Take CR7 out of his rhythm as soon as possible. One way is to get Africa's number one dribbler, Prince Kevin Boateng to turn him inside out and face down with Baba Yara-type moves whilst supported by two Black Star players.The aim is to aggravate his ego early in the game. His goal-makers must be prevented from having the ball. If CR7 is on the ball and dribbling towards the Black Star goal one midfielder should run fast behind him and with a lateral jump,tip the ball in front of him towards a Black Star defender. If CR7 is taking a free-kick, defenders must guard the corners of the goal post. Two defenders must confront him simultaneosly with the third one staying on guard for any mischief by CR7.
  
  Strategy 2: The FIVE-gear formation will be deployed against Portugal. This is how it works mathematically. The Black Stars will start the game in the 4-4-2 formation with Essien being one of the four at the back. This is the first gear and the safe mode of playing Portugal. Baby Jet Gyan and Warris will lead the attack in the first gear for first 10 minutes. They should try to draw first blood as the midfielders hold back CR7. Then game shifts into second gear as Essien is moved to the midfield to create a 3-5-2 formation. At this stage Atsu, Kwadwo Asamoah, Prince Kevin, Muntari and Essien take a strangle-hold of the midfield. After 10 further minutes, the Black Stars shift into third gear to play the 3-4-3 formation for only 5 minutes as Kwadwo Asamoah or Atsu is moved forward to join the two strikers. Then the Black Stars double shift into the fourth gear to play the 4-2-4 formation by moving Essien back and moving Prince Boateng forward. This is the machine gun stage as the Black Stars lay siege against Portugal with shots raining down from all angles on their goal-keeper. The Black Stars will score at least three goals at this stage. Then the Black Stars shift into the fifth gear and play the 3-3-4 formation and then back to the 4-4-2 for the rest of the match.

  Knowing the problem we sometimes have at our left back, 3 behind can be a slippery moment for CR7 to cause havoc especially if the "Rock of Gibraltar" is not in the game.

All free kicks should be to score. we will beat germany.
  ghana always come out of the group. don't start the match sleeping and conceding a first fast goal. start like when we played egypt or chevk. rep.
