You don't send players to the world cup based on the past but rather based on who is HOT right NOW!
Right now, Augustine Ahinful is a better choice for Ghana than Essien.(just watch videos on YouTube if you don't believe me).
Right Now, Nuru Sulley and Abeiku are better defenders than the penalty-prone, short stature, low level foreign league defenders currently playing Ghana's defense.

Put the nation first to select the tean given each player the fair chance based on current form. If you do your home work well then you stand the chance of surprising the world. If you ignore advise and call up those warming the bench ahead of on fire player then you will be shooting yourself in the foot.

I remember this young lad called Asante. He was good with the ball and with time a experience, he will be a great player. But what did he do? He was forcing his way through 4 strong defenders knowing very well that he will lose the ball to opponent. This is lack of experience, and this is what we must not experiment with.

I may disagree with here Akwasi. It is always good and helpful to listen to the other people's views. In the first place this is a matter for the nation and you and everybody has the right to contribute and criticize based on some acquired information you might not be aware of. Secondly, many Ghanaians are living in the same country with some of these players and monitor them on daily basis which you might not have the opportunity as you cannot be everywhere at the sane time. So please open your ears now and you surely will come across some very good contributions which could help you in your selection. After all you are not under any obligation to be accountable to whosoever's idea you applied. Meanwhile, I believe you have deeply studied our immediate opponents tactical approach...Oh, I have forgotten you don't go to the net and so all what I am trying to say are just hollow bla..bla...bla

Why u ask? Becos he is hardheaded and won't listen. From listening to him you getthe following qualities about the guy. He is not disciplined nor committed to excellence as a coach. He lacks tactical ability. He believes in the concept of "whatever". He doesn't not necessarily believe in cause and effect and will adopt square pegs for round holes. This is not the type of seasoned coach we need for the team. He will continue to make adhoc decisions based on some innate revelation which makes no practical sense. He is afraid to listen to the radio becos he is too emotional to hear ppl criticized him. Rather than listen and use that to his advantage, he is tuning out? LOL....

He has been extremely busy touring and visiting his players, talking to the players and boosting their confidence. All the players respect him, because of the way he carry himself. He is not those kind of coaches who go around asking for watches, clothes and favours from his players. He has implemented a very unique approach to the game. Right now most of the players know the best way to defend against the most popular players, how to tackle and the tempo of game every team is bringing to the W-cup. Coach AA only visited S.A even Ghanaian league is much more better than SA and besides he does not go on the internet to watch the previous matches. How can he recognize those on fire?. Those foreign matches are better than SA. Coach AA don't come and give us an excuse that you did not see or hear from any station about those in top shape. To reach far in the World cup depends on the crop of players you will select now. Put the nation first and select on merit plus current form and not favoritism. Anyway, i believe coach AA will do the right thing so let's all support him morally and spiritually. The B/S should comprise of experienced blended with the youthful exuberants on fire.
