  We the promoters, even though we consider ourselves serious businessmen, we just arrived in Accra from our villages so we did not know every May is a no noise-making month in the nation's capital. The GBA should have known better to inform us. Maybe the new head of the GBA also just arrived from the village. I don't believe in the spiritual significance some of the Gas have associated to this but anyway noise-making is a health hazard to every normal human. In my mother's village Dawu, we also have no noise-making period which no one dares to violate. The Ashanti Queendom also upheld no burial month recently. This generated a lot of income for the mortuary operators but at the same time caused financial debt to the bereaved
  families. So the economic importance is zero. Also, my father-in-law's body can only be taken to Kwahu for burial in 2 months time since that is when the next batch of mass funeral and burial will take place as their tradition demands. And even on that fateful day, woe betides any family who dares to drive any dead body to climb the Kwahu hill/mountain into town before 6pm.You have to have a plan for your dead body before 6pm while you are waiting down the hill otherwise it will defrost. I think this no noise-making period should be extended to the rest of the country and enforced especially at nights to tame the nocturnal noise-makers who think God is deaf so they have to make noise before he or she can hear them.
