Common sense should have told most people that if the coach had the chance to select 27 players for the prelimnary list but named 23, that tells you he had settled on his squad already. The extra four was just to meet FIFA directives but not second guessing himself, mark my words, none of the four players will make the squad. They only way any of these guys will make the cut is only when someone is injured or for some reason one of the 23 gets out and I see that not happening.

The squad is not bad. But I think it is imperative that new ideas and strategies are employed for success in Brazil. This is because our opponents are busy watching videos of the Black Stars in the last few years as part of their preparations. To counter this, AA must institute new strategies and bring on new faces whom we can use as our secret weapons. That's why I think it will be wise to get relatively new comers Accam; Acquah and Schlupp in the final cut if they prove their mettle. In our last match against Montenegro, it was clear their coach did his homework very well. It was apparent he had studied videos of the Black Stars. They dealt comfortably with all our free-kicks and our attacks especially in the first half. And they seem to know our weaknesses hence their offence concentrated on their wings especially the right, right from the very first whistle. It is against this background that I think we need to have new ideas and strategies to outwit our opponents.

I love Opare but he and the other defenders will have to defend with caution by not being overly aggressive in and around the 18 box.....CR7 will love to take set pieces around such areas, also some smart opposing players will can resort to antics and because there is camera replays in soccer will cost us because the decision of the referee cannot be rescinded with a bad call. WE CAN BE WORLD CHAMPIONS WE JUST HAVE TO BELIEVE ON OURSELVES AND AVOID SILLY MISTAKES.

Anyway Muntari, Essien and Gyan may be old horses as you put it. But old horses can be very wily and possess a lot of tricks up their sleeves. “When you are making a team for a tournament like the World Cup, you don’t need to second guess yourself,” he told Metro FM.

The Black Stars team have begun preparations towards the World Cup in a non-residential camp in Accra.

The team will play a farewell match against a local select side – the Dream Team – on Friday, before it departs to intensify its preparations in the Netherlands.

I pray you keep Aquah, Accam and Schlupp in the final squad and depend on them in the tournament. Don't just include them for the numbers but use them. CR7 will be facing Schlupp and that will be interesting combat to witness. Aquah, Accam, Atsu, and Warris are ready to show the world what they are made of. Germany is going down and I can feel it!

Many are called but few are chsen. In the days of long ago concentration had always been major problem of African teams. It seems these days we have overcome it. In a tournament like the World Cup, knowlegde and understandind alone will be of little value if they are not accompanied by the concentration and discipline neccesary for the successful application of the game. Football is a game of judgement and decision in rapid changing circumstances. concentration therefore is fundamental to successful performance and needed to be taught and stressed upon: I am talking about the other forms of concentration 1. when the game is stopped for a goal kick,corner, throw in etc. when the ball changes hands 2.When a player becomes tired.........3.A break in concentration by a defender, could however mean....
As I said before (a) defence must be well organised (b)attackers must be equally defensive, functions tadays football. I am very proud of Coach Kwesi Appiah and his coaching staff and I wish Ghana success.
