The real economic benefits of the world cup or any other world event is through documented and undocumented sex trade. The money that prostitution is generating(sex tourists/fans have started a couple of weeks already before the opening ceremony) at this world cup is even more than the official gate fees.
Now, more openly local and international gay/lesbian prostitutes are also cashing in on the trade. Some pay taxes eg. in Holland, Las Vegas, Brazil etc and they often receive full medical check-up for precautionary measures than even married women whose husband's fool around and brings them all sorts of diagnosed and undiagnosed diseases.
Even when presidents, ministers, etc. travel to another country in the company of the wife, they most of the time have an "undercover girl friend" in the same plane or lets their body guards hook up a local girl for them in a separate hotel. JFK was one of them.
