  Kpb should not start. He started the Netherlands friendly and after about 25 minutes he had run out of energy. Anytime he plays for Schalke he hardly ever lasts the full 90 minutes because he's carrying a long term injury. Because of the injury he's carrying, he does not tackle. After the Dutch friendly he missed training for a day to nurse his injury. My point is there are equally good players as Kpb such as Atsu and Waka so so I really don't believe kpb should start. We're risking him being substituted and starting kpb is like playing with 10 and half men because he contributes very little to the Black Stars.
  
  My prediction? Ghana 3 - USA 0

  I like your analysis on Kpb, however I am afraid Akamai may be right when he says Kpb will always start.
  It will be a brave decision not to start him because he is the type of player who may not be effective in a game, but will have one or two flashes of brilliance that can result in a goal or result in a pass that creates a goal. There is always the off chance that Kpb will be the deciding factor in the match, but on the other hand, you may wait 90 minutes and not get anything. It's a bit like England deciding to bench Wayne Rooney.

  You've made a good point. It's all about risk vs reward in fielding players like kpb, Essien or Jordan in a match. Such players need about 10 or so matches to make an very good impression in only one match.

  You've made a good point. It's all about risk vs reward in fielding players like kpb, Essien or Jordan in a match. Such players need about 10 or so matches to make an very good impression in only one match.
  
  Whereas the players in my starting 11 are players who can made a strong impact in any match they play in.
  
  You see in a tournament like a world cup to get to the final you only play 7 matches. In fact if you lose the first 2 matches you should be leaving Brazil. That's why the first match is always important to win.
  
  The risk of playing kpb is definitely much much higher than the reward he might provide. I will play Atsu or Waka so than rely on kpb - in my humble opinion.
  
  USA we can best them - let's field the players who are fit, strong and can run and play for a full 90 minutes.

  However, may I also add that it is easy to talk when it is not your head on the chopping block. I dare say if you were actually in AA's shoes, you would go for the safe option and start Kpb.

How he found space at the corner to take a shot even though it was a poor shot - have you heard the commentator "Boateng, playing the sort of passes we didnt see from any Ghanaian player until his introduction" this comment was in response to his side pass to Ayew in the 69th minute - Now you see why he should probably have started?

This is completely not representative of their international standing in the game. We may be ranked 30 something but then we are far too strong for too strong for these American. I say 3-0 at worst 3-1 Bring it on guys

  " I think the US have carefully arranged their friendlies to propel them up the FIFA rankings for image purposes" - Again agreed - however, not only for image purposes, but because it gives you a favourable draw as you will be put in a pot with other high teams and therefore are likely to be drawn with lower teams. Ghana should consider this type of FIFA ranking window dressing.
