WEEKS AND DAYS LEADING TO OUR CLASH WITH THE USA I WAS OUT HERE TRYING TO SOUND THE ALARM ABOUT A DANGEROUS MENTALITY ADOPTED BY GHANAIANS AND OUR TEAM.IN OUR MINDS WE HAD ALREADY WON THAT GAME AS SOME OF US WERE PREDICTING A DELUGE OF GOALS.MANY HAD WRONGLY ADOPTED THE MENTALIKTY THAT THE AMERICANS WERE SOFT BECAUSE THEY HAD NEVER PLAYED IN THE ROUGH AND SCRAPPY CONDITIONS LIKE OUR PLAYERS DID BEFORE THEY BECAME PROFESSIONALS.THESE AND OTHER MISCONCEPTIONS LULLED OUR PLAYERS IN AN EXTREMELY FALSE SENSE OF SUPRIORITY OVER A VERY TRASNFORMED AMERICAN TEAM LED BY THE DISCIPLINARIAN KLINSMANN WHO DIDN'T TOLERATE ANY "SUPERSTARISMS"IN HIS TEAM.WATCH THE GAME AGAIN AND YOU WILL SEE AN AMERICAN TEAM THAT OUT PLAYED AND OUT CLASSED THE GHANA TEAM WHICH WAS MORE INTERESTED IN HAIRDOS AND SAGGING.ACCAM COULD NOT HAVE CHANGED ANYTHING ALL BY HIMSELF.AND ACCAM WAS NOT SELECTED BECAUSE HE FAILED TO IMPRESS AT CAMP.WE ALL SAW HIS PERFORMANCE AND WERE DISAPPOINTED TOO.THERE IS NO SENSE TRYING TO REWRITE HISTORY WITH IMAGINED FACTS.IN THE END I THINK ANY OF OUR FIRST THREE CLUBS IN THE PREMIER KOTOKO,HEARTS OF LION AND GEARTS OF OAK COULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB WITH THE AMERICANS THAN THE BLACKSTATS.
