I have read in recent weeks with alarming dismay the level of vitriolic charges and insults bandied around here at each other,players and officials.Nothing positive can come out of such discourse and our national makeup and unity can not afford such unnecessary assault.What People need to understand is that this is just football.Yes there is a lot of national pride attached,so my challenge is this.If people are so concerned about our national pride and image then why can't they contribute to the elevation of it.You can contribute in many other ways besides football.I was in Brazil and I was amazed at how proactively organized the Germans were.Groups of Germans(completely private individuals not associated with GermanFA)set up small information desks to assist other German speakers with directions, maps, phone calls and emergency care.It is what you can do to assist not how loudly you can scream insults at your fellow citizen.

Appiah is the lousiest coach Ghana ever had. He lacks confidence, cannot read a game to influence event on the field and had no control over his team. Remember, our two-goal striker, Asamoah Gyan and the own-goal scoring ace, John Boye selected his team for him? He is no coach! Let's not try to put this 'square peg' in a round hole.

He does not deserve a contract extension! For crying out loud, he was an assistant under our various foreign coaches for over '200 years', but never learnt a thing!!! What else can we do for him? Nothing! Let him go!!

Do we believe that some other Appiah is going to 'sprout out' of this one and take us to the 'promise land'? Not a chance in hell! Let's not waste even another day on him!!

But all said, he is not a nigger! Just an incompetent coach!!

Simply because Appiah has been as assistant coach for the black start for many years, the other Ghanaian coaches that coached the black stars did not have that opportunity. By the time he took over, Ghana already has a good team which was built by the Serbian. So we all expect him to continue making the team stronger. Team is keeps falling apart under coach Appiah. He has spent so much time with the team but he still doesn't know is first line up. Looking at the way the black stars play right now, I would say that coach Appiah has little to no experience to be the head coach of the black stars. Therefore, his contract should be terminated.

He demonstrated his limited ability during the world cup tournament. He does not deserve an extension of his contract.

What do Ghanaians call failure looking at this guys record I really differ from the folks who think he is or has been a failure let us break it down this way how many local coaches had tried to take us to the wc but failed just be sincere and do the counting and who is the first local coach to take us to the wc?AA.Then also what was the performance of our guys at the prequalifiactions to the wc?Great and generally what was the performance of our guys at the just ended wc?Never disgraceful listen to all the foreign commentators or if you have the tapes which I have or just go to youtube and if only you are sincere you will see that our guys were a marvel to watch what I accept here is that nobody cheers a loser irrespective how well you did.Watch the Ghanav vrs.Germany match and draw your own conclusion.Yes I agree the expectation this time was tooo high but I also really sympathize with our local coaches who had tried to take us to the wc several times but failed it was not their fault because most of our players past and present do not respect our own locals they will heed to the foreigner but not their own.Let us be real and talk about canker and quit shifting blames and concerntrate on discipline.I have spoken to some local coaches and they all same thing.Even this AA has done well so far.Yes some glaring mistakes I know were made especially even taking Jordan on the trip was just unacceptable but I will say sometimes all coaches take the risk they know if they succeed they are heroes but when things go down then they are trouble.There is nothing wrong to bench any player at any time but really to bench KPB or Essien for Jordan still remains unacceptable but all and all our guys did a good job but fell short of expectation.At this juncture there are several who have their favorites they want to politicize everything to try to kick somebody out to get their favorite in with all kinds of accusations.Especially the Zakours etc.who everybody knows have their favorites waiting silently to cash in.We all know how polarized the whole society is so they try to bring politics into soccer.I still remain in the old school of thought at let us give this our local a chance before we start crying for foreign or anybody else.My only piece of advice to AA is that yes he is a gentleman and very reserved but as a man and a leader he needs to get out the shell and be vocal sometimes he should speak out and speak up after all he has also been a BS player and even captain before.Look at German Kilsman he speaks out and loud irrespective you the player he makes you understand that he is in charge and nobody else he also make them understand that nay player can be benched at any time and any game because only 11 players can play at a time.He lets you understand that being benched does not mean you are not great rather it is even most players coming from the bench that win matches.Just look the guy who won the cup for Germany he came in at the last minute from the bench it was a strategy by the coach.Great players continue to study the agem better from the bench so when they come in they are even more dangerous than those on the field.We just need to change our mindset about coming from the bench.Thanks.

What do you mean by massive failure. You should be analytical and objective but not emotional in your assessment of his performance. He took over when all the big stars were not in form. Even with the big stars you did not win any African cup. Since 1982 Ghana has not won any African cup despite the millions paid to white coaches. Its only black coaches that has won cups for us. To bring the players to this standard, to me is a great performance. In the world cup we played with youthful average and some uncommitted players. The group is our strongest ever. Unlike the past that we had some weak things including America and Australia now even Iran has improved and Australia is strong so is America.
Fifa rated us as underdogs. Players were concerned with money so why blame the coach. You will be shamed when this coach wins Africa cup for us. He managed to take us to the world cup even though Zambia, the defending African champions, with a white coach who was awarded 3 points for nothing was defeated by Appiah.
A great coach indeed. Give him a chance.

That needs to be verified in order to re assign him. On the other hand, this guy has done well and need to be recognized. I think the black stars could have done very well in this 2014 world cup. Unfortunately, due to scandals, poor management and players lack of professionalism,Ghana Black Star come short of the dream. With that said, I think lots of people need to answer to some serious question regarding to all the hoop la in Brazil. From the top to the bottom. Personally, I do not blame the players! but the leaders including coach Appiah. Unless he was blind sided.
