Anyway, I have a suspicion that South Africa will be the host and an extra third place team will actually be allowed to qualify to replace Morocco. Morocco is making a big mistake. This will affect their program for years to come.

From your statistics, how many of those infected die compared to the number of those who die from ebola affliction. Experts and scientists will tell you that the most efficient way to deal with ebola is containment. some people will not show symptons of ebola until they have landed and settled in at their destination - meaning that these soccer players/fans can actually bring the disease to Ghana without being detected at the airpotts during screening.

Ghana needs to strengthen the capacity of health facilities; we need to equip our schools; we need to normalize our power supply capacity; we need to make football administration in Ghana transparent; we need to develop other sports; we need to build roads; we need to provide basic drinking water; we need a clean environment; the list goes on.
None of these critical needs relate to a last minute hosting of African Cup. I hope those who are salivating about a gravy train must be told in certain terms that Ghana has patches of dryness. Ghanaians are just eking out a living; most Ghanaians are poor, even if politicians and football administrators have no regards for the "cedi".
Ghanaians want a leadership with a vision. It is frustrating for a nation to be stumbling from crisis to crisis, or to be roped in to organize football tournaments when there's been no anticipation, preparation, budgeting, organizational structures, etc. Guess what? The only beneficiaries might be the ever vigilant vultures in the leadership who are ready for such opportunities in order to fatten their express account, to give "back-pass" contracts to their friends and cronies; to fleece the nation.

Ghana and others are guilty of this corruption as well. Everything happens for a reason. Stop the mansions and cars and build hospitals. If hosting a tournament will force the leadership into improving the health infrastructure then so be it. Our leadership allowed this to happen. Now that the pressure is on and the world is watching some "chopping" will stop.

Keep "chopping" and then beg for the West to solve the problem. It is time for the politicians to face the real problem. Corruption leads to lack of healthcare services. Meanwhile the Canadians have a patent on an Ebola vaccine that is being tested in Washington, DC as we speak. It is scheduled for release in December. Hosting in WA zone would potentially result in much increased exposure because of much more increased fan numbers from heavily affected countries in the sub-region.
