Osei, it looks like Nigeria has the facilities to host the game on short notice but Nigeria is not two hours drive from Ghana. It takes 45 minutes to fly from Lagos to Accra, the same time it takes to fly from Dallas to Houston, Texas, a 245 miles drive on the good roads of Texas takes at least 3 and half hours driving within the mileage limit.

I bet it will take eight hours to drive from Accra to Lagos. I don't think . More likely Togo, not Burkina Faso with the turmoil going on. I think it is more likely Nigeria which is on the verge of being eliminated from the competition and the only way for it to make it is to host the game.

I just think Hayatou did not guess right how long it takes to drive from Ghana to Lagos.

In short the shortest distance by road between a town or village in Ghana and a town or village in Nigeria. All countries that fall within two hours by drive radius come into question and these are Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Togo, Bennin and probably Nigeria.

Sorry Sarps, Aflao to Badagry is not 8 hours it's only 2 hours drive. I travelled on that route for 5 years from 1980 to 1985. Togo is only 11 miles wide and Benin is only about 3 times the coastline of Togo.

The NFL is selling American football to European audience by playing regular league matches in England. It stated with just one game in a season. Now, it is five games. Pretty soon, half of the NFL games will be played in England and Germany.

Furthermore, maybe, we could invite a couple of non-African teams to participate to really create a new global tournament to rival the corrupt FIFA World Cup. After all,"Cup of Nations" sounds better than "World Cup."

Also, buga-buga AFCON is always more fun than the Euro Cup, or the Gold Cup or whatever they call that one in the Americas.

The question we must ask ourselves is whether, if it is an European country, or Canada, or United States, asking to host the AFCON because of ebola, would we turn it down?

Let them host it. Let's take the show on the road. It is AFCON ON TOUR.

I also support his idea of using this chance to showcase African soccer outside the continent, or even creating another global tournament. Don't forget we also have CHAN.
