Two from each group qualifies so in a scenerio you just discussed, Ghana andwhoever wins the Guinea vs Uganda match qualifies.

There's really nothing wrong in loosing some matches sometimes even to a side you are bigger than, my problem with Ghanaian soccer followers is the seeming mentality of invisibility most soccer followers think Black Stars are. Brazil is known for their love for soccer and their football prowess and suddenly, the spirits of soccer deserted them in the full glare of the world when they succumbed disgracefully to Germany. That is how the game of football plays out sometimes as sich has nothing to do with ego. When Black Stars rose to the quater finals in South African world cup and almost got to the semis; that was not any perfections of any sort but was just the right time and Black Stars were primed to lead the rest of Africa, afterall other African countries had trailed the blaze on the World stage before Ghana and today are strugglers even in African continental football. Fame and glory does not last forever in soccer therefore Ghana should learn the history of those who have there before and begin to moderate their expectations of the current demoralised Black Stars.

This is the same way we were manhandled by Burkina Faso and Cape Verde during the last AFCON games. We had a bunch of immature square pegs in round holes. Midgets who are unable to defend or convert set pieces. Shooting the ball from midfield with no discipline. Solomon Asante was the only breath of fresh air in this set-up. Avram Grant has his work cut out for him.

In the game against Uganda, the defensive blunder that led to the goal was a fundamental error. In the olden version of soccer, the number 2 and number 3 jersey players try to cover each of the pair of goal-posts with the mutual concern of the goal-keeper. The defensive mid-fielders and some of the wingers give close marking to the forwards of the opposing team. In particular, the defenders of old, possessed amazing skill, confidence, ball-control and 360-vision. Even the defence of 1982 , in the semi-modern era was a beauty to watch when defending under pressure--Kwame Samson, Hesse Odamtten and the rest

In this game ,John Boye kicked the ball aimlessly into touch for a corner-kick trying hard to avoid letting the ball get into
the wrong hands. He could not handle the ball effortlessly like Dogo Moro, Kuuku Dazie, Addo Odamettey and the greats of old. Why dont the coach Konadu teach them these skills. During the corner kick that followed, the Black Star defence committed the same error again of not marking the opposing forwards and guarding the posts. The goalie was roaming out of position. This error was committed in WC 2014 in Brazil and also in the AFCON matches under Silent Killer Appiah and his aid-de-camp Max Konadu.

The forwards of the Konadu squad had no specific instructions to play cohesively nor poach for goals. It was a mirrow image of the Max Konadu coached CHAN game against Libya. Aimless dribblings and lack of perfect positioning in front of goal does not lead to anything but pain ang suffering for the Ghanaian soccer fans like Ogoglo Quarter.

Max Konadu could not make a case for
himself to be installed as the coach nor assistant coach of the Black Stars. On the otherhand , it should be noted that he played without the super stars Sulley Muntari, and Essien.

Is Grant the solution to these problems? He should talk to Lius van Gaal and Man U on slow recovery; and consult Scolari and Pareirra on what happened to beautiful soccer in Brazil. If he understands all these problems then he may have some clues about coaching the great Black Stars of the Republic of Ghana.

Konadu should take the blame becos u don't call up non performing players like warris,.Rabiu etc....Why was boye even called? Adusei should have started this game.
