A while back I warned that if Essien allowed greed and selfishness to lead him to Brazil it may destroy whatever was left of his career.Fans and Coaches around the world who were used to the exploits of the bison were forced to watch him humiliate himself on and off the field.The sad part of this saga is that most people especially the younger fans will only remember Essien by the Brazil performance and that is really a shame but I for one do not feel sorry for him.HE DID THIS TO HIMSELF.

Yes the guy is great and still great because all those guys have already paid their dues except that nothing last forever.A All the Tysons,Ali,Azuma,Abedi,Steve Appiah,John Mensah,Osei Kofi,Polo etc. have all come and gone nothing stays forever.About his age that one I do not think he is 40 yet because he is an old boy of St Augustines Cape Coast and was way behind my oldest son who is now 38 so if anything at all I will presume he might be between 34 to may be 36 and since soccer is very physical players usually do not last beyond 35 only few.I know how hard it is to sometimes say bye to something you love to do but sometimes you have no choice.As Tyson said you have no other choice but to say bye before the good name you have earned already made gets tarnished because the strength will just give up on you. You do not want any humiliation.Essien's other choice now is may be to go to the Arabs or join the MLS.
