  You're wrong. Football has changed tremendously in the last 20 years. Speed, height, brain and muscle power have all contributed to change the face of football. Gone are the days when people believed the game is for dim-wits, the academic challenged and school drop outs. Today,if you are not tall (6 feet plus) then you must compensate for the height deficiency with tremendous skill,amazing speed,great muscle power and illuminating intelligence. This is the reason why we need to develop the game from the basic level through college, bearing in mind that a sound body is a sound mind and vice versa. We have got our priorities wrong as a nation, spending lots of money where it's least needed and spending very little or nothing where it is most needed. For instance, during each election year the government in power spends millions of money bribing people with gifts and cash to vote for them instead of investing that money in sports, education, health care, infrastructure, etc. Politicians steal our money for their personal and family comfort. Can anyone tell me what our national development priorities are?
  The poverty of skills, poverty of ideas and innovation, poverty of dedicated and patriotic citizenry, poverty of infrastructural development, poverty of a great education system,poverty of a sports development program, poverty of jobs, poverty of a good health care delivery system, you name it, is all because we're not putting our money where our nation's mouth is. I visited to an elementary school in the US and was astounded when I saw the gym. Any wonder the US has made giant strides in not only sports but every field of human endeavor. We have no reading culture because there are not enough public and school libraries and the very few places that we are privileged to have a library there aren't any books. What we have is not a poverty of natural and human resources because God has been more than generous to this nation in the allocation of resources but we're struggling with everything you can think of because we've got inverted priorities as a nation and there's too much of greed and corruption but there's too little or nothing of transparency, probity and accountability.

  Ghana can qualify easily. We have the experience the other teams don't have. All we need to do is prepare well in the dark, be disciplined and have attention to detail. If we
  a)train and prepare well in less light conditions.
  b)disciplined players who pay attention to detail in scoring, converting freekicks, corners, convert set-pieces, defending.
  c)experienced players. All these teams in the group are good but compared to Ghana. They are relatively young, inexperienced and lack tournament experience.
  How to win afcon!
  "Defence wins championships!" declared a triumphant Michael Jordan in 1991.......
  To win afcon, Ghana must have a team with these qualities
  1. Experience coach: the coach's relative experience must be at par or supercede that of his competitors in africa
  2. Skillful Players: for when the game make hard like atwomo, tahweee!. U need skillful players, no fear niggas who can get the ball into the 18 with spectacular dribble, freekicks outside 18. U need more players like gyan,.Dede,.assifuah,....abedi (komfo, abodam, skillful players) who are willing to push the the envelope and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN!
  3. Experience Players: the more experience players, the better your team will be at making it deep into the tournament with a clear head, composure when the going gets tough.
  Folks, these are the 3 ingredients every trophy winning team must have to win a trophy. It's easy to.win afcon becos many African teams lack these 3 qualities. Shehata was able to win over and over becos his team always had these qualities...
  *Let Konadu resume duties as coach, Sellas Tetteh and dramani as deputy coaches for the afcon tournament,.Grant as Technical Director / Advisor. Let each coach produce their best 23 players on merit and why they chose them. Please, no bribe or favoritism!
  *Ghana won all 4 precious afcon trophies with local players. Keshi won afcon with mostly unheralded local players. Same with 3peat egypt! Libya won chan with local players. Ghana has proven time again that we can't win afcon trophy with foreign based players
  *The problem is our local league is currently inactive. Ideally, for an afcon tournament. The bstar squad should be made up of 11 foreign based players and 12 local and African based players. Wcup will have more foreign based players still. If ghana takes more foreign based players to afcon. They will come home empty handed, AGAIN. Trust me!
