Someone commented last week about how Atsu lacked ambition and wasn't serious and I think they had it right. Atsu is turning out to be a disappointment.He acts as if he has already arrived.He doesn't show any desire to move on to the next level of his game.I think we should drop him permanently after this tournament. Coach Grant must be allowed to begin rebuilding the next generation of Blackstars.

Atsu shows movement and gets attention but cannot seem to finish well. It is time to give Wakaso more time than Atsu. I believe Wakaso is more of a real scoring threat.

All Atsu needs is the "fire in the belly" as you put it. He is good, but he thinks he is better than he actually is and thats his problem. All the hype early in his career when he was playing in a cheap league has gone into his head. He needs to be brought back to square one. He is good, but he is not as good as he seems to think he is. However, having said all that, I believe he is key to the next generation of players. It is him, Andre and Jordan (who I do not like very much but he will keep improving with maturity), Solomon Asante and co who are the next generation. Kwadwo Asamoah, Agyeman Badu and co should now be the elder statesmen, KPB Muntari, Essien and co phased out, we shouldnt go back to those old boys.

Folks don't forget that things like this usually happen to us s lot in our tournaments. I recall Ivory Coast beat us 3-1 or so in a similar tournament. 2006 WC, Italy beat us 2-1 in a our opening match. We came back with all and qualified to the second round. WC 2014 for instance, if it wasn't that appearance fee saga, we would have been able to beat Portugal and qualify. Look at the way we handle Germany, the eventual champions? Who would have thought we were capable of going all the way with Germany?

Changes have to be made to the formation and the striking force has to be a little sharp and we will be there. 4:4:2, the Ghanaian old style should be applied. Play Afriyie Aquah and Agyeman Badu in the heart of the 4 midfielders, allow Wakaso to take the left wing for Adrea to the the right wing. In front of them, since Gyan is now available to take his position and his captainship band, he should be paired with Jordan. One thing is Jordan should be warn not to waste opportunities because this is a match I think he could score more than two goals for a simple reason that Asamuah Gyan would be close marked by the Algerians.

One of our best option here is to play the best midfielders we have in the team and make Andrea the play-maker behind Gyan since they combined so well in a 4:4:1:1 formation this way. For this option, for the fact that Rabiu has one yellow card already, keep him on the bench and use Agyeman Badu and Afriyie Aquah in the middle of the midfielders. Play Wakaso at left flank and Atsu at the right wing. At the back 4, we can use the same 4 with the exception of Awal handing over to John Boye. Brimah should once again mount between the sticks and I bet you a win against Algeria.
