GBSTARS Lacks Depth
This is why the team is struggling. The team lacks seasoned and strong players like painstil, antwi, yiadom, essien n muntari, mensah of portugal,.......seidu salifu, assifuah, adusei and ainooson. With these players, Ghana will be beating these teams by at least 3 goals in the opening rounds. But look at this this team struggling to score goals....huh. The midfield is weak and the defence lacks veteran leadership. Algeria and Senegal will qualify out of this group simply becos they have teams with depth: 2 sets of starting 11s. Can you say the same for gbstars? NO!

The truth rather is that, the gap between the various teams has been narrowed significantly. In other words all the teams are virtually equal in strength. Is it not surprising that Nigeria, the defending champions with talents in abundance, could not even qualify to be at E Guinea? It is difficult to accurately predict which team will emerge as the champions. As someone said, every group is now a group of death.
As a former player, Laryea should have known better. The ideal condition for a lot of goals to be scored in a match is for one team to be strong and the other weak. Group D paints the picture even clearer. After 2 matches played, all the teams are equal in all respects - points (2), head to head, goals for (2), and goals against (2). Should the final matches end again in 1 - 1 scores, the only way to determine the 2 teams that will qualify to the quarter finals is to ballot among them.
Clearly, there are no minnows air AFCON 2015.
