Christopher Opoku......... this article is SPOT ON!!!! Very well written and an excellent overview!! I agree with every observation from the first paragraph to the last including your decision to credit Masongo for the great goal rather than criticize the Goalie, Boye's malignment, Mubarak as man of the match, Mathoho being close to Gyan due to his rep, crediting Grant - EVERYTHING!
One thing you should have mentioned though is some of Wakaso's tackles expecially in the first half were a bit wild and reckless. I think Grant had a word with him at half time because he toned it down in the second.
The only part I dont agree with you is on some of the player ratings.

Baba Rahman should have 8/10 - apart from giving the cross for Dede to score, he also had a HOT effort on target in the first half which the SA keeper parried. As a full back, it is impressive to get such an effort on goal, and then create the chance for the winning goal, therefore 8/10.

Jordan Ayew should be 5/10 - missing a gilt edged chance in the opening minutes, then he went missing for most of the game. When he touched the ball, it invariably ended up in a poor pass or back with the opposition.

Jonathan Mensah should be 6/10 - he missed a "free" header in the SA box early on in the game. He jumped and instead of heading the ball, the ball was hitting him. You can tell from him body shape that his eyes were closed long before the ball got near him. He should have watched the ball all the way, and only closed his eyes at the moment of impact as that is involuntary. Defenders like John Terry, Branislav Ibrahimovich, Vincent company, Daniel Agger, would have buried that chance EASY!

There is an argument for giving John Boye 8/10. As a defender, his first touch in the box for the goal was amazing, and he stroked it home like a seasoned striker. Remember that ball he received was not a pass, but rather a mis-cued shot by Dede, so to bring it under control, keep his cool and slot it home is impressive for a defender.......... however if you insist on giving 7, I will accept.

All the others, I agree including:
Razak Braimah (6/10) – Agree
Daniel Amartey (6/10)- Agree
Christian Atsu (7/10) - Agree
Mubarak Wakaso (8/10) - Agree
Andre Ayew (7.5/10) – Agree
Kwesi Appiah (6/10) - Agree (brought more vim)
Asamoah Gyan (6/10) - Agree - always a danger even when not playing well.

IT SEEMS LIKE OUR DEFENCE IS IMPROVING OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. NOW OUR MAIN HEADACHE IS TO FIND A GOOD GOALKEEPER. I THINK, THAT PROBLEM IS STILL NOT SOLVED. I WOULD RATHER CHOOSE STEPHEN ADAMS OVER RAHMAN.

The coach should listen to us that neither Jordan nor Atsu should start a game and Badu, Wakasu and or Afriyie Acquah should always be on the field with Dede, Gyan and the cast.

Jordan is not bad,The only issues with him is- He isn't as aggressive as a modern day striker. Also, he doesn't release balls in good time. He must learn to be a total team player.

Enough is enough Ghana needs Suley Muntari, mojo Asamoah if fit Michael Essiene, Kevin prince Boateng to fill in the gap. Politics and football don't succeed it only brings division among players so please re instate this important midfielders to add more fire power In the Black Stars line up. Our frustrations are getting high. Do it before it's too late. It is very important to learn to get along with footballers as a coach, manager or with the Ghana football Association.. John Boye should start from the bench if Daniel Amartey recovers in time and maybe we should start looking elsewhere for other good defenders and forget about this too known John Boye
