The Stars should stop wasting corner kicks and free kicks, they must train very hard on that. The Black Stars wasted 14 good corner kicks and countless free kicks against South Africa. Why?Remember what Germans and Americans did ...

    Of what significance is this

  • Avogadro 9 years ago

John Boye had become notorious for scoring own-goals. If this was a battlefield, he would have been named, 'Mr. Friendly Fire'! It's about time he scored against the opponents rather than the BS!!

He is on his way to r ...

And the grammar is poor (e.g. "Prior to beaten the South Africans..." in the third paragraph). This is unpardonable!

  • OKOROMANSA 9 years ago

BOYE DID WELL BY SCORING THAT GOAL, HOWEVER THERE IS NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT THIS PIECE OF NEWS.

  • Agonahene 9 years ago

Tony Yeboah and Abedi scored against them in one of the tourneys. Please don't change the facts.

  • Montel 9 years ago

The content of the article is right but the title is false and misleading. At AfCON tournament Ghana has never scored against SA. In other competitions such as qualifiers and friendlies yes we have scored but not AFCON. so th ...

Who told you that? What about the AFCON in South Africa that Tony Yeboah scored that fantastic goal? Were you born?

  • Oman ba kojo 9 years ago

Rastaman, Tony Yeboah never scored against SA in either an Afcon or 1996. That That Tony Yeboah goal I think u r talking about was against Ivory Coast. In 1996 Afcon, SA beat Ghana 3 nil in the semi finals

  • bejs 9 years ago

That match was rigged. South Africa had just then come out of Apartheid and every one just wanted them to win. that Tony Yeboah's goal was a clean one but was disallowed.

  • Agya 9 years ago

They walloped us 3:0 in AFCON 1996 when they hosted it and again crashed us 1:0 in AFCON 2000 when Ghana hosted it

  • Kodjo Boateng 9 years ago

bro it is not true. S A defeated Gh three goals to nothing.

  • ME 9 years ago

So many times we use history and logic to determine outcome of football matches but no team consists of the same players all the time so anything can happen at any time.

  • GH 9 years ago

    And so what?

  • KANTOOSE 9 years ago

You cannot think of any ingeniuy heading but this one. Boye is first Ghanaian player to score against South Africa in Afcon. Then you leave out the "in afcon" gyimi gyimi Kwasia! This heading is not smart, it is rather foolis ...

John Boye has the unenviable record of being the first Ghanaian to score an own goal at the World Cup.

  • EKOW PHOBIA 9 years ago

I disagree because there is the late Escobar of Colombia who was shot because of the unfortunate own goal by one of his compatriots....a very tragic story indeed!

  • lucas 9 years ago

    Ah,Is your Escobar a Ghanaian?
