This is not a new tournament and it started in 1996. Mostly played in South Africa and Zambia are the current champions. It is organized by the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA, similar to the old ECOWAS tournament. Has more to do with CAF than FIFA. I don't think it is a nonsense tournament just because the participating teams maybe low ranked. Members take it seriously and coaches have been fired because of poor results. With Zambia playing, we should not expect to stroll through and win. Ghana did lose to Liberia so we should not raise our egos that super high

I am a little confused about who is going to be playing in this. It looks like a CHAN team will be sent to this. I cannot see the major Black Star players being released for this.
