When they want to make a name, they lobby to be chairmen of Kotoko but when Otumfuo Osei Tutu II gives them such high pedigree opportunity to manage the Red Army, they all (yes, you heard me right, "they all) use the team a financial punching bag and daily breakfast milk and the only thing they know is drinking from the financial coffers of the club. Sad. And very sad.Although Dr. K.K Sarpong was top manager, a CEO at TOR (Tema Oil Refinary, which is now in shambles and buried in the grave), he only became well known and popular when he was appointed the Chairman of Kotoko. But in spite of all his credentials, including boasting of having no lesser a degree than Doctorate, he should have known better, if not the best. During his tenure of office at Kotoko, he neither publish annual financial reports-budgets and balance sheet nor made it known to the masses of Kotoko fans monies realized from all the players he arrogantly and ignorantly sold outside. Was it not too damning that a whole graduate of Dr's degree managing Kotoko boasted most often than "If you know how to play, I know how to watch and sell." And he proved this rhetoric and insane mouth watering statement by selling more than 7-players of the team when Kotoko went to play in Serbia. Surprisingly, nobody, and I mean nobody in Kotoko fraternity questioned him why he sold so many players during just one trip of the team. Not even the custodian owner of the team, Otumfuo was able to ask him any question. So you see, he enriched himself through dubious ways and because nobody was able to think proactively with visionary common sense, Dr. K.K Sarpong thinks all Kotoko fans are fools. And as if that is not enough, he has the audacity to prosecute Kotoko (a great club which has fed him andhis family before) to the law court, alleging the team owns him hefty money. He doesn't have any respect for the great King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,....if he had any respect for him, he would have used his common sense (if any) to go put his worries before Manhyia Palace or go to Nana for his money. But hey, who else can I blame most? Of course, I can't blame anybody than the King himself. He gives the team to people whose childhood background and moral ethics have no parallel queues to fearing and respecting God. Nana take delights giving Kotoko to people who have made names and are rich, forgetting that "not all that glitter's gold." Just look at the poor performance depicted by the team during their just abruptly ended African Champions League. Otumfuo himself must check himself. He must take some of the blame. Kotoko is destrying partly because of him and his other class one sub-chiefs. Just look at how a mere Mpaboahene (sandals chief), Benkumhene, Nifahene, Asante Mamponhne and other chiefs perturbed Herbert Mensah and did everything feasible under their empty worldly powers to sack Herbert Mensah with foolish excuse that he doesn't speak Twi. I am Twi person myself and a true and loyal Akan but judging a top administrator merely because of his inability to speaaking Twi is too damning and bogus. Senseless. If Nananom had not given marching orders to Herbert and he was maintained up to date, Kotoko would have by now been the most fearsome, fearful, and well known club in Africa. Herbert could have by now won and listed a lot of African Championship Trophies for the team. Interestingly, because all the various mouth pieces of the team are all glorifying money than telling readers the truth, the so-called Kotoko Express newspaper and the rest have all failed the million fans of the team. If Otumfuo and his Mpaboahene and co do not wake up from their archaic 'ahenefie' administrative skills and stop appointing people with no fear of God to handle Kotoko, the team could soon be in a great demise. Just look at the current Kotoko players-they don't care about the team thus they play anyhow. But who recruited or purchased those too old players? Isn't it Opoku Nti, the current Chirman of Kotoko who did it? Wasn't he a great player who won helped to win African Cup for the team? Does that alone qualify him as the Chairman of a whole big club like Kotoko? What are his administrative qualifications and experiences? In the history of Asantes Kingdom, Kotoko have not suffered abysmally under any King worst than Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Why? Because he himself has questionable characters since his youth. Sadly, in Africa and Ghana, 'abofra ntumi ntu opanin fo.' To wit, in Ghana and Africa, it is forbidding for a child/youth to counsel the elderly or a King. Plsease Otumfuo, wake up for your chiefs are destrying "the people's club." Otumfuo and his chiefs have repeatedly said that they have confidence in Opoku Nti. Well, we are watching. But let me ask them: What type of confidence are they talking about? "Confidence that transforms a team to win laurels or stinking and 'ahenfie' "confidence" that does not add any drastic value to Kotoko? Or, these chiefs and Otumfuo think the club is for them alone? Do they know how many people die or don't east when Kotoko is defeated by a minnow team? Do these heartless cheifs know how many fans of Kotoko die yearly through road accidents?
